More than two years of dating, Black Widow actor Florence Pugh and boyfriend Zach Braff are still going strong. The couple lives together in Los Angeles. However, their relationship has stirred up a couple of backlash and criticism among the public. But Florence Pugh defends her boyfriend and their relationship.

A lot of backlashes have to do with the age gap between the couple. While Pugh is 25 years old, her boyfriend is currently 46 years old. In a new interview with the Sunday Times, the British actress speculates on why her relationship has prompted criticism.

“I think it bugs people that it’s not who they expected,” the Oscar-nominated star tells the media. A lot of the public expects her to date younger men. People mostly prefer her to date someone like her Little Women love interest actor Timothée Chalamet, who is also the same age as Pugh.

In the video, she stated that she has been working since she was 17 and have also been paying taxes when she was 18 years old. “I do not need you to tell me who I should and should not love, and I would never in my life ever, ever tell anyone who they can and cannot love. It is not your place, and really it has nothing to do with you.” the actor said then.

Speaking to the Sunday Times, Pugh addresses the bullying comments she’s received about dating Braff. Pugh said that she would rather have the haters unfollow her instead of having them spill negative comments over her posts. She also defended her boyfriend Zach Braff.

“The thing is, people want Instagram to be a nicer place, they want to see nice things. They want to be inspired and they want to be happy. I don’t mind you not liking me, that’s absolutely fine. In which case don’t follow me,” Pugh said.
