Marvel Phase 4 Movies and Series Confirmed Updates

After Endgame’s end, Fans wanted an end credit scene so badly to hold on to the hope that something good will happen in MCU’s future, but we didn’t get that. Instead, we got a whole phase with movies and series, and “what if?”

Marvel Fans are eternally grateful for phase 4 and also for the ability to spin theories and fan fiction until the original movies drop in. MCU theories and fictions have actually kept fans a little stable in this worst year. Thank you, Stan Lee! Thank you, Marvel!

This article brings every phase 4 movie and series and where it stands on its schedule.

Phase 4 Movies:

Black Widow

This movie has been postponed for God knows how many times. The film was a prequel to Black Widow‘s life. It was supposed to release one year from the death of Natasha Romanoff in the Endgame, but due to the Pandemic, Marvel hasn’t been able to do so.

Even though one of its top investors has been asking to release the movie in Disney plus, Marvel or Disney has no plan on doing so. If, by a big miracle, everything gets back to normal, Black Widow will be released on its now finalized date, April 29th, 2021.

Shang-Chi: The Legend of the Ten Rings

Unlike many other Marvel phase four movies, Shang-Chi has actually managed to finish shooting. The Asian superhero movie’s final shooting took place in San Francisco, and it had some serious action sequences even involving a car chase.

The majority of the shooting took place in Australia, and by October, even after including the pandemic break between March to July, Shang-Chi wrapped up it’s shooting.

The movie is set to be released on July 9, 2021. The film might have connections with Iron Man as the Ten Rings have been mentioned in every Iron Man movie and also in Ant-Man.

Eternals

Marvel’s Eternals New Logo

Even though it is said that Eternals will have no cameo from the Avengers cast, we are secretly overhyped to see the star-studded cast in action. But with Marvel and its secrecy, we don’t know if we can believe them.

The premise of the film is set after the aftermath of Endgame. Eternals have been living on Earth secretly for over thousands of years. The movie, which is set to release on November 5, 2021, might explain why they didn’t appear for Wakanda’s battle or the Avengers facility’s final battle.

Spider-Man 3 (2021)

Oh, the rumors and theories surrounding this movie! Out of all the rumors that are going on, the only confirmed facts are that the cast has arrived in Atlanta, Tom Holland got the script, and the title might be released soon. Also, Sony has promised to release the first look before 2020.

The film is set to release on December 17, 2021. According to Tom Holland, the movie is scheduled to shoot for five months.

Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)

All the cast members, including Taika Waititi, have already landed in Australia for preparations. Chris Hemsworth is already settled in Australia, thus making it easier for him.

The film starts shooting in January 2021, and now the principal photography is underway. The movie is set to be released on February 11, 2022.

The Guardians of the Galaxy crew will also be making a cameo as Thor left with them at the end of Endgame.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)

Doctor Strange, according to many sources, was supposed to start shooting in October in London. But ever since the cameo of Doctor Strange in Spider-Man 3 has been announced, it is said that Benedict Cumberbatch will arrive in Atlanta, finish his cameo and then return to London for Doctor Strange 2.

However, the shooting will start at any time now. As confirmed, cast member Scarlet Witch, aka Wanda Maximoff, will be a part of Doctor Strange 2. Her stunt double had confirmed fan’s speculation by posting stories of her mandatory self-quarantine of two weeks before the shoot. They were thus making it official that the filming will start very soon.

Black Panther 2

Even though we are unaware of anything set to happen in the movie, we are sure Marvel and Disney will honor Chadwick Boseman.

We are still not aware if Black Panther 2 will be a phase 4 final movie or Phase 5’s opening movie. The movie, according to schedule, is set to release on May 6th, 2022. The shooting is set to start in mid-2021.

Disney Plus Series:

WandaVision

WandaVision had started shooting in 2019 and was halted during the pandemic in March. In July, the filming resumed, and now it has been completed. The series, which stars Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany, will give more significant insight into Wand and Vision’s life.

The events that take place in the series will directly pave the path for Wanda to meet Doctor Strange in Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness. The series was supposed to be released in December, but fans started speculating that it might release by 27th November 2020.

Recent promo by Disney plus for the shows that come to the platform in November also had a glimpse of the WandaVision show, making it possible that the series might hit the platform in November itself.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

The series was last seen shooting in Peru. But according to multiple sources, the filming is over. Like every other phase 4 product, this too was delayed because of the Pandemic.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ were first scheduled to release in 2020, but now it looks like it will be released in the early part of 2021.

The series will see the Falcon and his newfound not so much speaking antique of 100 years old taking on Captain America‘s mantle and stopping bad guys.

LOKI

Loki was one of the first series announced by Marvel to be streamed in Disney plus after the tragic death of the character in the Infinity War.

According to the website, the storyline is Loki jumping through timelines after getting hold of the tesseract (Endgame). The events tie directly to Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness.

Looks like maybe we might get a mini Avengers reunion in Doctor Strange 2 and Spider-Man 3. The series is set to stream on the streaming platform in early 2021.

What If…?

What If…?

The series will revolve around MCU‘s most significant occurrences on the most exciting question, “What If?

Every event in MCU will be challenged and shown in a new light by saying what if this had happened differently. The entire MCU cast will be reprising their role and will be giving their voice for this animation series.

Is it just me, or do you want Deadpool to do the narration too? Unfortunately, as the voice of The Watcher/ Uatu, Jeffery Wright will be doing the narration.

The series is set to premiere mid-2021 and will also have a season 2 with ten episodes.

Hawkeye

Marvel Studios Hawkeye

Some fans wanted a solo Hawkeye movie, but Disney decided to make it into a series and not a movie.

The show will take place after the events of Avengers-Endgame and will also show Clint Barton, aka Hawkeye’s alter ego Ronin’s time in the five years gap from Thanos’ snap to Quantum Realm events.

It is also said that Hawkeye will pass on the mantle to the character Kate Bishop. With that, most of the OG Avengers will be gone. God, why?????

The show is set to premiere in 2022.

Ms. Marvel

Ms. Marvel

After its rapid success with the audience in 2016, Marvel announced that Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, would be made into a series real soon.

In 2019 Marvel announced that the series was in development, and in September 2020, Iman Vellani was cast in the titular role. This is the first Muslim Superhero to join the MCU.

The series is set to premiere on Disney plus in 2022.

She-Hulk

She-Hulk

The series is set to premiere in 2022. The story revolves around Bruce Banner’s cousin, who gets Hulk‘s powers after receiving a Blood transfusion from him.

It is also wildly speculated that Hulk would return back to his former self after this transfusion.

Several outlets announced Tatiana Maslany as She-Hulk but later, she has declined that it was just a rumor and nothing else.

Since she is Bruce Banner’s cousin, we will most probably see Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk in the series. The series is on schedule to be premiered on Disney plus in 2022.

Moon Knight

Credits: Raf Grasseti

Moon Knight will finally be introduced into the MCU through the series. It was announced in 2019 that the series is under development.

Oscar Isaac is rumored to play the title hero, but Marvel or Disney has confirmed nothing. The series is set to premiere in 2022
