When Marvel Studios signed Robert Downey Jr., they certainly didn’t imagine that the actor would take the lead in their Cinematic Universe, much less leave his mark. Robert held the position of leader of the Avengers for over ten years and made Tony Stark a fan darling.

Many mourned his death at the end of Avengers: Endgame, indeed a milestone in cinema history. The film became the box office champion of history but lost ground to Avatar. To get back in number one position, they had to re-release the film.

The sequel made clear the potential the actor would have in Marvel. Earning $10 million for Iron Man 2, the film spawned a third plot and was the first of Marvel’s solo heroes to star in a trilogy. In Avengers, another $50 million went to Downey Jr.’s account.

The third Iron Man was undoubtedly a giant salary leap. While the $50 million was already a lot, the hero’s third film earned the actor a total budget of $75 million. Although Avengers: Age of Ultron was named one of Marvel’s worst films at the box office.

Downey Jr. went home with a value between $ 50 and $80 million. The deal was similar for Captain America: Civil War, where Robert starred as Captain America’s enemy. For production, however, the actor earned bonuses and profit-sharing, reaching something around US$ 64 million.

Spider-Man: Homecoming

In Spider-Man: Homecoming, Robert participated for a short time, being on the scene for approximately 10 minutes. Even though the release marked the beginning of Peter Parker’s career, Iron Man did well.

Even with little time, Robert earned something between $10 and $15 million. In Infinity War, The amount was eventually multiplied, and Robert received a payment of at least $75 million.

Avengers Endgame

The last film in the actor’s career as Iron Man was also one of his most enormous salaries. To say goodbye to Tony Stark, Robert needed $80 million, plus undisclosed bonuses after the production’s astronomical success.

The Marvel films earned the actor more than 400 million dollars, not counting the possible undisclosed bonuses, which exceeds 2 billion reais.
