A Complete List Of All The Upcoming Marvel Movies

What To Expect From The Upcoming Marvel Movies?

With the advent of the Marvel Phase 4, we will not just get a lot of new TV series, but also a lot of Upcoming Marvel Movies. In addition to a solo film for Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow, we will also get an Eternals film starring Angelina Jolie. Furthermore, there will be a Shang-Chi movie starring Simu Liu and a Blade reboot with Mahershala Ali.

Moreover, there is also an announcement that Marvel Studios and Sony will make another solo Spider-Man movie together. Along with that, Sony will also produce other movies in the Spider-Verse alone, with characters like Venom and Miles Morales. Also, it is important to note that with Disney’s acquisition of Fox in 2019, the MCU and the X-Men Cinematic Universe are now merged. This means that there are new Fantastic Four and X-Men movies in works as well.

Below is an outline of all the Upcoming Marvel Movies. While some are originals, others are sequels and even spinoffs.

One of the Very First Movies Is The New Mutants, Releasing On April 10, 2020:

The X-Men Cinematic Universe did end. However, the ending was more of a whimper than a bang. The last entry in the main X-Men narrative was Dark Phoenix, which did not do well at the box office. And it is due to these failures that Disney will reboot the series. Subsequently, it will be set sometime in the future.

However, before that, Disney will introduce the New Mutants. This is the final superhero movie that was made by Fox before Disney took over. The movie’s cast includes Anya Taylor-Joy, Maisie Williams, Charlie Heaton and Henry Zaga in the leads.

Black Widow, Releasing On May 1, 2020 Will Be The First Of The Many Upcoming Marvel Movies:

We will finally get a Black Widow solo movie, which was long overdue. Actress Scarlett Johansson, who plays Black Widow, has made an appearance in a total of six Marvel movies. However, she has never been the lead. Black Widow is a prequel. It is set between the events of Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War.

In the film, Black Widow is on the run. She is a fugitive from the law after she helps Captain America in Civil War. She then travels to Budapest to confront the secrets of her past. There, she meets up with fellow assassins who were trained in the same program as she was as a teenager. Together, they face off against the villain Taskmaster. Cate Shortland is the film’s director.

This Will Be Followed By The Eternals, Releasing On November 6, 2020:

Chloe Zhao will be directing this film, which is about an otherworldly group of superheroes. The Eternals will have Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani and Brian Tyree Henry as a part of an all-star cast.

In the comics, a race called the Celestials creates the Eternals. The latter are all superhuman and are immortal as well. They have powers of flight, telepathy as well as manipulation of matter, along with other things. They also have the task of protecting Earth.

Marvel Phase 4 Will Also Have Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Releasing On February 12, 2021:

Shang-Chi will be Marvel’s first Asian superhero to get a solo film. Simu Liu will be playing the superhero in the film. In the film, Shang-Chi will face off against the real Mandarin, instead of the one who was pretending to be Mandarin in Iron Man 3. The film will also have Golden Globes winner Awkwafina in an undisclosed role.

Doctor Strange And The Multiverse of Madness Will Soon Follow The Other Upcoming Marvel Movies, On May 7, 2021:

Doctor Strange is finally getting a sequel. Moreover, judging by the title, MCU fans will most likely see the introduction to the multiverse. Benedict Cumberbatch will reprise his role as the titular hero in the film. Additionally, Elizabeth Olsen will join Cumberbatch, as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch.

On August 16, 2021, We Will Get Spider-Man: Homecoming 3:

Sony and Marvel Studios have teamed up for Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home in the past. Moreover, Sony has allowed Peter Parker to appear in MCU ensemble films. This includes films like Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. And their new deal suggests that they will make at least one more solo Spider-Man movie. Additionally, we will also get one more ensemble MCU movie starring Spider-Man.

Tom Holland will return to play Peter in the upcoming film. And since he was revealed to be the person behind the mask in Far From Home, Peter will likely have to reckon with the consequences in this film. As for the villain, reports suggest that Michael Keaton will return as Vulture.

The List Of Upcoming Marvel Movies Also Includes Thor: Love and Thunder, Releasing On November 5, 2021:

The female Thor, a.k.a. Jane Foster will be the lead in this upcoming Thor movie. Natalie Portman will return to the franchise to wield Thor’s hammer in the next movie. This gender-flip is not unprecedented: A female Thor took up the mantle in the comics in 2014 as well.

Additionally, Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson will also return for the film. Thor: Ragnarök director Taika Waititi will once again take the helm as director for Thor: Love and Thunder.

May 6, 2022, Will Be The Day When Black Panther 2 Hits Theatres:

Another interesting fact about the next phase in Marvel is that Black Panther 2 will release. Ryan Coogler will write as well as direct the sequel, with Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong and other actors joining the cast.

The Marvel Phase 4 Will Also See The Release Of Blade, The Dates Of Which Are Still Unknown:

Marvel is rebooting Blade with Mahershala Ali of Moonlight and True Detective fame as its lead actor. As of now, we don’t know anything else about the film.

The Upcoming Marvel Movies Will Also Have Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3:

This is one film that has been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride. The film was set for a 2020 release until Disney fired James Gunn. A few months later, on March 15, Disney rehired Gunn to direct the film.

The final movie in the Guardians trilogy could launch at least one spinoff. In a post-credits scene of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, ravagers played by Sylvester Stallone, Michelle Yeoh and others talk about reuniting a fractured team of heroes.

Captain Marvel 2 Will Also Release On An Undisclosed Date:

Brie Larson will reprise her role as the universe’s most powerful superhero in this Captain Marvel sequel. Debuting in a movie set in the 1990s, the last time we saw Captain Marvel was in Endgame. In the movie, she was taking a break from patrolling the universe to help defend Earth against Thanos.

There Will Also Be A Fantastic Four Movie In The List Of Upcoming Marvel Movies:

Marvel Studios has plans to reboot the Fantastic Four franchise. However, they don’t have a set date for the film. Additionally, there are rumours that Doctor Doom will be the main antagonist in future Avengers films.

Next, The Spider-verse Will See The Release Of Into the Spider-Verse 2:

Based on early reviews, Sony has given a green signal for a sequel of  Into the Spider-Verse before it even premiered. The film will most likely focus more closely on Miles Morales, especially now that he has learned how to handle his webs.

Moreover, There Will Be An All-Female Spider-Verse Spinoff Movie As Well

In one of Into the Spider-Verse’s many parallel worlds, Peter’s friend Gwen Stacy gets bitten by the radioactive spider. She then becomes a hero. Stacey and Penni Parker are two of the alternate universe Spider-People. They, along with some other female heroes like Spider-Woman, are a part of this spinoff film.

The Venom 2 Movie Will Also Release In Marvel Phase 4:

Tom Hardy plays Eddie Brock, a man who has been infected by an alien symbiote called Venom. There is no mention of Spidey in the film. Venom turns into something of an anti-hero in the movie, battling the villain, Riot. A mid-credits teaser suggests that Venom will probably get a sequel with Carnage.

Morbius Will Also Release On An Unknown Date:

Jared Leto is joining ranks with Sony to play a Spider-Man villain. The movie will center on the vampiric character Morbius and be directed by Daniel Espinosa.

Ryan Reynolds-Starrer Deadpool 3 Will Also Release

Disney has not yet confirmed the production of a third Deadpool movie. Ryan Reynolds will, once again, reprise his role as the titular character.

The Spider-verse Will Also Potentially See The Premiere Of Silver And Black:

There were reports that Sony had scrapped this movie. Some reports even suggested that it was divided into two different solo movies for Silver Sable and Black Cat. However, a recent source confirms that the movie is still a-go, but the writers are revamping the script.

The details of the plot are scarce as of now. However, Silver Sable, the head of an elite squad, will likely be hunting down the talented burglar Black Cat. Subsequently, they will join forces.

There Are Reports Of A Logan Spinoff As Well:

Logan director James Mangold is working on a script that would center on Laura. Also known as X-23, she is the little girl Logan shepherds across the country in the original movie.
