Akshay Kumar And Katrina Kaif Re-unite For Sooryavanshi
Sooryavanshi is an upcoming Bollywood action film. Directed by Rohit Shetty, the film will star Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in lead roles.
New Release date
This film is the third installation in Rohit Shetty’s cop universe after Ajay Devgn starrer ‘Singham’ and Ranveer Singh’s ‘Simmba.’ Though the film was initially scheduled to release on March 24, 2020, it got postponed due to the outbreak of Covid-19. But there’s a buzz going around that this film may hit the theatres on April 2, 2021, on Good Friday.
Demand for a high revenue
It has been reported that the makers of Sooryavanshi have asked for a revenue share of 70% from the cinemas.

The producers used to get only a 50% share in the pre-Covid era. Moreover, they have asked for a shortening of the OTT window to 4 weeks compared to the usual 8 weeks. The exhibition sector hasn’t agreed to their conditions yet.
According to them, the revenue sharing model is not financially feasible for the theatres. Theatre owners fear that if a film arrives on a digital in a short period, it can reduce footfalls. If these discussions work out, then the film may come out earlier.
But if it doesn’t, then the makers will probably go for an OTT release. This is because Shetty has received a massive deal from an OTT platform.
Other projects
The coming year is jam-packed with projects for Akshay. Other than Sooryavanshi, the actor will be seen in big-budget projects like Bachchan Pandey, Atrangi Re, and Raksha Bandhan. Katrina, too has some big projects lined up like Phone Bhoot and Tiger 3.

As a pair, Akshay and Katrina have delivered various hits like ‘Namaste London‘, ‘Singh is King’ and ‘De Dana Dan’. But the two haven’t worked together for 10 years and were last seen in ‘Tees Maar Khan’. Fans look forward to seeing this Jodi in an action-packed flick.
