Thena’s Suffering: Angelina Jolie In Eternals

With the upcoming movie, Jolie will be making her debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Playing Thena, we will be seeing a female warrior who can bring weapons from thin air itself. While the trailer has not revealed much about individual storylines including the character the actor will be playing, we got to know more about Thena through Nate Moore.

According to an interview with Screenrant, Nate Moore who is a part of the production team revealed some juicy details about Jolie’s character in the movie. Moore explained that Thena has a very tragic story behind her.

Moore said that Thena suffers continually from memory loss. “She has a tragic story in our film in that she comes down with something called Mahd Wy’ry,” he explained. Moore added that fans who have been following the comics would ultimately understand this.

“If you guys are fans of comics Mahd Wy’ry is something that can beset an Eternal. It’s a version of dementia. Because of the amount of memories they have, they become unstuck in their own mind, so she starts to forget exactly when she is, so through the course of the movie, Gilgamesh becomes her protector,” Moore said.
