Avengers: Endgame Theory May Reveal Why Thanos Had a Vision in the Soul Stone

The Infinity Saga was all around the 6 infinity stones, Thanos and Avengers.

Till now, every Marvel fan might be familiar with Thanos’ snap-in Avengers: Infinity Wars which was one of the most catastrophic events of Infinity Sags.

A Recap to Thanos’ Snap

For those who don’t know, Thanos did collect all the Infinity stones for balancing humanity and population in the universe.

The famous snap did all wrong and wiped half of the universe along with half Avengers.

After the snap, Thanos had a vision that he went to Soul World, the world within the Soul Stone, and saw young Gamora.

The possibility that Hulk and Iron Man may have also reached the Soul World but that was not shown and was deleted from the movie.

Directors Joe and Anthony Russo have also said that they planned a Soul World scene for Tony, where he’d see his daughter, Morgan, as an adult.

Redditor has always keen in putting forward new theories from Avengers: Endgame. This time again one Reddit user, u/comrade_batman, has come with a new theory.

At the end of the movie, we saw Thanos having the vision of Gamora because he went to Vormir and sacrificed Gamora himself to get the Soul Stone.

“I think the reason why Thanos was the only one who was transported to Soulworld when he Snapped, was because he was the only one to actually sacrifice that which he loved.”

“He went to Vormir and sacrificed Gamora for the Stone, which he why he had a vision for her in the Soulworld, because he understood the Stone’s need, in having to lose his daughter.”

“Smart Hulk and Tony, however, did not truly understand the Stone. While the did use the combined powers of the Infinity Stones, just as Thanos did, they didn’t have to personally sacrifice anyone for the Soul Stone. It was Clint who had to lose Natasha to obtain the Soul Stone.”

On The Way to Soul Stone

While on the way to get Soul Stone, Red Skull’s words to Thanos were ‘Soul holds a special place among the Infinity Stones.

You might say, it is certain wisdom…To ensure that whoever possesses it understands its power, the stone demands a sacrifice…in order to take the stone, you must lose that which you love. A soul for a soul.’

“If Clint had been the one to Snap then I think he’d have a similar vision with Natasha, seeing her one last time, like with Thanos and Gamora.”

Perhaps the most mysterious of the Infinity Stones, the Soul Stone was the subject of a fairly large amount of speculation regarding its location and nature leading up to the release of Infinity War last year.

No other inifinty stone lead up to this level of personal devastation.
