Avengers: Endgame’s Fat Thor Gets an Official Name From Marvel

Will Chris Hemsworth Return After Thor: Love and Thunder? Is There More for Thor in the MCU?

Avengers: Endgame events were a setback after the tragic end of Infinity Wars.

The five-year jump shown in Endgame takes us to the life of each and every Avenger after the snap event. One such was “Fat Thor” featured throughout the movie.

Fat Thor in Endgame got a name

Fat Thor had been one of the best things that were portrayed in Avengers: Endgame.

The new appearance was a closely kept secret right up until release day, with stars staying tight-lipped in interviews.

Thor seemed to have a seriously hard time while dealing with the loss of half universe, which included his family, friends. Thor let himself go, indulging in beer and video games. Chris Hemsworth’s Thor sported a potbelly in the film and fans started calling him ‘Fat Thor’.

Marvel has now suggested a new name to our lovely fat thor, “Bro Thor.”

As per comicbook.com, a special featurette for Avengers Endgame is titled ‘Bro Thor’ and the clip is described as,

“His appearance has changed but his heroism remains! Go behind the scenes to see how Bro Thor was created.”

This new name is arguably an improvement though, as it doesn’t just describe Thor’s physical state but his mental one as well.

The God of Thunder chose to shirk all the responsibility as he had lost everything he had.

Chris Hemsworth as Thor in Endgame

Chris Hemsworth had earlier revealed that he wore a body suit to achieve the look required in the film.

While talking to the Business Insider, director Anthony Russo told that it was quite taxing for the actor. He talked about Chris’s problem while he played the character of fat thor.

“While we were shooting Endgame where he was heavier we had to do some pickup shots for Infinity War, so he would have to go back and forth between those two looks. So he had to wear a bodysuit, and it was quite heavy.

That suit started to wear on his back, which was scary when you have someone who has to be so physical.”

It’s been rumored that the next time we will see Chris Hemsworth as The God of Thunder on the big-screen will be in Slither and Super writer-director James Gunn’s third Guardians of the Galaxy movie which will NOT be called Asgardians of the Galaxy thank you very much.

Karen Gillan and Pom Klementieff will probably be joining the Guardians once again as Nebula and Mantis, and I’m sure James Gunn will figure out a way to bring back Michael Rooker as Yondu Udonta.

And let’s hope that Sylvester Stallone will return for a more significant role as his Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 characters, Stakar Ogord.

Avengers: Endgame is now being re-released in theaters with some extra scenes and a tribute to Stan Lee. The digital release of the movie stated to release on June 30 across America.
