Bleach: Uryu Ishida’s Upgraded Quincy Abilities!
Uryu Ishida is a Quincy, residing in Karakura Town and a classmate of Ichigo Kurosaki. During battles he tries to avoid destructive force and would rather try to win by incapacitating his opponent. In this article we will look at some of his powers that make him a tough opponent to beat.

Excellent Archery skills of Uryu Ishida
Uryu is at his best when he is with his quincy bow and arrows which can be seen when he fires hundreds of arrows at once to kill the swarm of hollows. His many talents include being able to fire accurately and constantly. In addition, he can control the trajectory of his arrows after firing them. It is yet unknown as to the number of arrows he can control after firing but we have witnessed him controlling the trajectory of 3 arrows fired simultaneously using this method.
He also uses his arrows to negate the attacks of the opponents. To do so, he charges them with enough power to intercept an incoming attack. He has used it many times to nullify the opponent’s attack. After regaining his powers, we also see him using a new pentacle type Quincy crossbow which has many new special abilities compared to his original bow.
Use of spiritual energy
Also known as Reishi absorption, this is used by a Quincy to forge weapons by combining the spiritual energy from the atmosphere with that of one’s own self. Uryu usually uses the power to create bow and arrows but we have also seen him forging swords a few times.

There are various other uses of the power. Uryu uses it to heal himself by manipulating his own body in case he is paralysed during the battle. He is also an Ginto expert whereby he uses the spiritual energy stored in the silver tubes which has a similar effect to that of a kido.
Intellect and physicality
If there is something at which Uryu is far better than his counterparts then it’s his ability to use his superior intelligence during fierce battles. On numerous occasions he has used his brains to find weaknesses in a rather physically superior enemy. Moreover he is multilingual with expertise in languages like Spanish, German.
Uryu has a superior spiritual awareness and power which allows him to detect the hollows from far away as well as gain strength in the combat. Under ambient circumstances, he can even take the spirit energy from his opponents.

About Anime Bleach
Bleach is based on Tite Kubo’s manga series of the same name. The story revolves around a high schooler Kurosaki Ichigo who accidentally receives the powers of a Soul Reaper when the latter gets injured when she was trying to save Ichigo from a hollow. The powers give Ichigo’s life a new meaning who then trains to use them to maintain the balance between the world of the dead and the living. The final arc of the manga will be covered in Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War which is set to be released in October, 2022.
