Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again is bringing a fresh face into Matt Murdock’s complicated love life. The series trailer teased intimate moments between Daredevil (Charlie Cox) and a mysterious new woman, and now we know who she is—Heather Glenn, played by Margarita Levieva (The Acolyte).

Heather is a therapist who meets Matt on a blind date in the season premiere. But there’s more to her than just a romantic subplot, Episode 2 reveals that she’s also the new marriage counselor for Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) and his wife, Vanessa. This unexpected connection between Matt’s past and present suggests that Heather could play a significant role in Born Again, possibly blurring the lines between hero and villain dynamics.

Heather Glenn’s Comic Book History

Heather Glenn made her comic debut in Daredevil #126 (1975), created by writer Marv Wolfman and artist Bob Brown. Unlike the reimagined version in Born Again, Heather was originally a wealthy socialite and the daughter of Maxwell Glenn, the head of Glenn Industries. She accidentally met Matt when she mistakenly entered his home, believing her ex-boyfriend still lived there. Their relationship started on an impulsive note, but it quickly became more serious when Heather used her wealth to support Matt’s legal clinic.

Unfortunately, her father became entangled in criminal activities, ultimately manipulated by the mind-controlling villain, Purple Man (Zebediah Killgrave). Despite Daredevil uncovering the truth, Maxwell took his own life, devastating Heather. This tragic event put a strain on her relationship with Matt, especially after she learned his dual identity as Daredevil.

A Doomed Romance

Heather and Matt’s romance continued in a rocky fashion. She struggled with his double life and his lingering feelings for Elektra. When Elektra was killed by Bullseye, Matt, consumed by grief, impulsively proposed to Heather. She accepted, but their relationship turned toxic—Matt pressured her to leave Glenn Industries, and she developed a dependency on alcohol. Things worsened when she drunkenly revealed Daredevil’s identity to a corrupt police commissioner, putting Matt’s life at risk.

Her story ended tragically in Daredevil #220 when, after struggling with loneliness and emotional turmoil, Heather died by suicide. Matt’s inability to save her became one of his greatest regrets.

How Born Again Reinvents Heather Glenn

Marvel Studios has taken a fresh approach to Heather’s character, shifting her from a socialite to a therapist with deep ties to the show’s central conflict. While her tragic comic book arc looms over her character, it remains to be seen whether Born Again will follow that same path. Will she become Matt’s emotional anchor, or will her connections to Fisk lead to heartbreak?

With Daredevil: Born Again leaning into darker storytelling, Heather Glenn’s presence may signal yet another emotional test for Matt Murdock. Fans will have to watch closely to see if this romance is truly “born again”—or doomed from the start.
