Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Will Mark Historic Marvel Netflix Crossover With Jessica Jones & Punisher

Marvel Studios is finally doing what fans have waited years to see — a full-scale Marvel Netflix crossover within the official MCU. And it’s happening in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2.

The upcoming season, expected to hit Disney+ in March 2026, will reunite Charlie Cox’s Daredevil, Jon Bernthal’s Punisher, and Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones — making it the first time three of Marvel’s former Netflix stars will officially team up under Marvel Studios’ banner.

The Netflix Defenders Are Back — Officially

While the original Defenders series on Netflix saw these heroes cross paths before, it was developed outside of Kevin Feige’s Marvel Studios, under the now-defunct Marvel Television label.

That meant those crossovers — while canon-adjacent — weren’t technically part of the tightly interwoven Marvel Cinematic Universe. But Born Again Season 2 changes that.

Not only does this solidify their presence within Earth-616, but it also marks the first-ever meeting between Jessica Jones and Frank Castle (Punisher) — a crossover never attempted even during the Netflix era.

What to Expect in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2

Set in the aftermath of Born Again Season 1’s political chaos, Season 2 continues Wilson Fisk’s reign as Mayor of NYC, with a war against masked vigilantes in full swing — directly adapting elements of the iconic Devil’s Reign comic storyline.

Matt Murdock will reportedly form a new underground team of street-level heroes to take Fisk down — and that team will include Jessica Jones and the Punisher.

Expect an R-rated tone, gritty street fights, psychological tension, and complex character arcs — a welcome return to the grounded, noir-heavy storytelling that made the Netflix shows so beloved.

What’s Next for the Netflix-Era Heroes?

This historic crossover is just the beginning:

  • Punisher: Jon Bernthal will star in his own Special Presentation on Disney+, coming in late 2026, possibly exploring a post-Born Again solo arc.
  • Jessica Jones: Krysten Ritter is reportedly being considered for a new Marvel Studios-led project — either a solo series or another Special Presentation.
  • Iron Fist & Luke Cage: Rumors suggest both characters are being soft-rebooted within the MCU, with new storylines and, potentially, new actors — though nothing official has been confirmed.

Why This Crossover Matters

This isn’t just about bringing characters back. It’s about redeeming some of Marvel’s most compelling stories that had long been sidelined.

For years, fans pushed for the likes of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Punisher to return with their original actors, tones, and complexity — and Marvel Studios finally listened.

With everything now under the Marvel Studios Television banner (not to be confused with the old Marvel TV), these characters are being treated with the weight they deserve — and folded seamlessly into the broader MCU.
