Demon Slayer: All About Nezuko’s Abilities!

Nezuko is an incredibly powerful demon with an impressive array of abilities all thanks to the high amount of blood she got from Muzan Kibutsuji. The remarkable thing about her is that she doesn’t even need to consume humans to stay alive.

Despite being deprived of a human diet though, she shows no signs of being hindered. She has immense reserves of strength and extraordinary growth rate, even being able to take on members of the Twelve Kizuki and the Upper Rank demons within a matter of months. Now, that’s some serious power! With that said, let’s get into a more detailed look at Nezuko’s many versatile abilities.

Phenomenal demon physiology

We see that Nezuko is very different from other demons. She has several demonic traits that set her apart from the rest of the demons. The most impressive one, as stated above, is that she need not consume any humans and still, she is able to constantly restore her power. Other demons cannot do this.

She recovers her power through sleep alone, but the downside is that she does need to sleep a lot to regain her strength. Also, her extraordinary growth rate is another notable trait. She has shown this many times when she grows stronger without any training or consuming humans.

Sometimes, she can even amplify her powers in the middle of a battle itself! A perfect example of this is when she was fighting Susamaru and her foot got blown away by the Temari demon’s ball attack. But the next minute, Nezuko, after regenerating, quickly kicks the ball back and surpasses her.

Incredible strength and regeneration powers

As a demon, Nezuko naturally has immense physical strength. We saw how she was able to decapitate another demon with just a kick at the beginning of the series.

Because she has no combat training, Nezuko solely relies on pure brute strength, especially using her legs as her main weapon to throw swift and powerful kicks. In her awakened form, she’s so strong that she can even pierce through the back of an Upper Rank demon with a kick!

Now, her insane regenerative abilities should also be talked about. She can heal herself within the blink of an eye! It was not always so because in the beginning, her regeneration powers were relatively slower than other demons.

But, once in her awakened state, her regeneration ability got so enhanced it became on par with the Upper Ranks. With this new upgrade, she is able to reconnect her whole torso and body parts and also regrow her arms and legs immediately.

Blood Demon Art

With her Blood Demon Art, Nezuko can not only generate, but also manipulate special demonic flames made from her blood which are pinkish in color. Her flames are such that it can only cause harm to demons or objects of demonic origin. It is entirely harmless to humans and other objects.

Her flames can even hinder the regeneration of demons to some extent. This is evident in how Daki was temporarily unable to regenerate herself after being burned by Nezuko’s flames.

She gradually shows much skill in wielding her Blood Demon Art too in the way she burnt off Gyutaro’s poison to save Inosuke and Tengen Uzui from dying and also turning Tanjiro’s Nichirin Sword bright red to give him a massive boost to fight Hantengu’s clones.

Blood control

Adding to her Blood Demon Art, Nezuko can manipulate her blood itself in her Awakened Form. When her head and limbs were cut off and she was almost cut into pieces by Daki, Nezuko was able to control her severed head and limbs by immediately solidifying the blood gushing out of them.

Then, after one upping Daki and her sashes, she could put all her limbs back together through the blood streams, thus successfully completing her regeneration!
