Did Shanks Join the Holy Knights as A Spy Of Revolutionary Army?
One Piece chapter 1167 spoilers are out, and among the many revelations that shocked fans, one that got many by surprise was that Shanks was a Holy Knight.
Well, we don’t know what led to what, but after the death of Rogers, we see that Shanks returns to Marie Geoise and joins the Holy Knight order.
Does Shanks know the truth about his Mother’s Death?
The very fact that Shanks’ crew is named “Red-Haired Pirates” is enough proof that he not only knows the truth, but the side he has picked.
Shanks has both the genes of the mysterious Red-Haired clan and the Celestial Dragon gene from Garling, but you never see him mention it anywhere, while his mom’s lineage is everywhere, from his ship’s flag to the bounty poster.
So, there is no way he joined the Holy Knights order happily without a reason. Many guessed he went there as a spy, and now, we can confirm that.
Did Shanks go as a Spy Of the Revolutionary Army?
If Shanks knew the truth about his lineage, then there is no doubt that he knows the truth about his mother’s death.
Many had already guessed that it was Roger who told the truth about Shanks’ lineage to him, revealing his connection to God Valley.
Now, if Shank’s information about his lineage were only from Roger, he would not immediately join the Holy Knights to collect information on them.
If, as many guessed, Shanks had connected his past to Dragon, who was the only witness to his mother’s death, then the story of Shanks joining the Holy Knights as a spy makes more sense.
Because we already know that no one targets the World Nobles like the Revolutionary Army, and no one knows more about the inner workings of the Holy Knights than the Revolutionary Army. So, there is a theory that Shanks may have been a spy for the Revolutionary Army.
If not a spy, at least someone who works alongside them, that would also make sense why Shanks visited Fushia Village so often, given that he had no business in East Blue at all.
Like Kuma, Shanks may have also visited there to look out for Dragon’s son.
