Disney has now confirmed that the annual celebration of Disney+ Day will return on September 8, 2022. If we talk about the company’s streaming service, we will see new announcements and previews of Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars and National Geographic projects. Last year, Disney held its Disney+ event on November 12th.
Here, the company showed a wide range of its plans for the streaming service for the next calendar year and beyond. Brief highlights include Marvel’s Moon Knight, She-Hulk and Star Wars’ Obi-Wan Kenobi. Disney has not confirmed what fans can expect from this year’s Disney+ Day. Based on what we’ve seen of Disney+ Days in the past, we have a rough idea of what the company is planning. With expectations set from last year, it’s safe to say we’ll see a variety of announcements and new shows, movies, shows, and specials. The streaming service has a lot of content, so expect a variety of shows. The company promises to “deliver special experiences for fans and subscribers.”
Another unknown form. Last year, most of the announcements were made via the Twitter feed. This method resulted in a long list of trailers, interviews and more. It was difficult to follow the “event” in real time. It will be interesting to see if Disney keeps this format or takes off. In addition to the Day announcement, the company released a teaser for the feature film Pinocchio starring Tom Hanks. The premiere of the film will take place on September 8 on Disney+. Finally, the culmination of all the festivities was D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in Anaheim, California. D23 is scheduled to run from September 9-11 with panels, events and more for fans from around the world.
