Domi Reversi is Fuelled By Fear
Domi Reversi has become a thorn in the side of many these days. We saw even the mightiest of heroes, Xebec D Rocks, treated like a puppet because of it.
Fear Fuels Domi Reversi
There are recent theories that suggest that the only way Domi Reversi can work on someone like Xebec is through fear.
Yes, the point that it has to be their hometown is a must, but the next essential element for the technique to work is fear.
Imu does that before Xebec flips into a demon. At first, Imu shows Xebec his father and grandmother in their demonised form to weaken him.
That was not enough for someone as powerful as him, so Imu mentions his wife and son running through the forest and says that they are his targets, and then the final blow is rendered with Imu mentioning Harald and the giants whom Imu plan on using as puppets.
Thus weakening Xebec and instilling fear of losing friends and family. But this theory is still in the works, as we are yet to know the true workings of Domi Reversi.
This is very similar to Big Mom’s soul-stealing technique, where the life span of the person is taken only when they show fear. But for Big Mom, this power is granted by her Devil Fruit, but we are not sure if it is the same case for Imu.
We are yet to see how strong Dorry and Brogy’s willpower to resist this technique and retain their true nature. As of now, they seem to have a better handle on it than Rocks.
Is it because they have Nikka by their side? We are yet to know that.
