Why is Doppo Orochi called the “God of War” in Baki?

Doppo Orochi known as the “God of War”, “Tiger Slayer” and many other impressive titles. He is the strongest karate practitioner in the series. He is one of very few people in the world who can hold his own in a battle against Yujiro Hanma.

Doppo Orochi is a 10th dan karate grandmaster. He founded the Shinshinkai style of karate. Doppo Orochi has shown superhuman levels of strength during his many battles. A mere flick from Doppo’s finger was shown as being so strong that it was capable of injuring someone’s forehead to the point that it caused him to bleed.

Doppo Orochi has fought the most skilled warriors and has had victories and losses, highly regarded as the epitome of skill. Doppo’s most famous loss comes to him at the hands of Yujiro Hanma.

Doppo is one of the few people in the world along with Baki Hanma or Kaiou Kaku to be able to stand almost toe-to-toe with Yujiro Hanma
Doppo Orochi trains and practices his techniques every day at least a thousand times a day. His karate style relies on brute force, speed, stamina, and technique varying from stances to defensive/offensive techniques.

He has above human strength and skill. Doppo Orochi was able to flip a large manhole cover with one hand while being sealed inside a large concrete pipe and reducing it to dust with his hands and feet. Doppo is also able to uproot large trees with his fist. Slay a tiger with his bare hands, another testament to his skills. Even his finger flick is very powerful.

He is very analytical and knowledgeable of other fighting styles techniques. Doppo Orochi was able to counter Yuujirou Udonde technique by quickly thinking of a countermeasure/attack. This shows knowledge of Koushou hitokiri karate technique being able to break down how his technique and explain it to others.

Techniques

Shinken Shirahadori ( Sword Catching) is a special and rare fighting technique.

Doppo Orochi has to parry a blade’s slash with their palms, blocking and holding the weapon. Then the user should counterattack his opponent with speed. This technique can be difficult to perform, as the user requires a maximum amount of concentration to block the blade within their palms, otherwise a fatal injury will be the result.

Tsuki-Dashi is a special fighting technique that is often used by sumo wrestlers.

Doppo Orochi has to use his palm to perform a push strike. The technique’s power depends on the Doppo’s weight. It can be used in different ways, such as a barrage of strikes or a single but strong push. It is one of the main techniques of sumo wrestlers.
