Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 5 was expected to significantly change the superhero universe. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania was seen as a hopeful prospect for revitalizing the MCU after Phase 4 fell short. Kathryn Newton, the actress who plays Cassie Lang, described Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania as the easiest job she’s ever had. When asked which movie was more challenging between the horror film Abigail and the third Ant-Man movie, Newton said that working on Quantumania was enjoyable, while Abigail was tougher because she had to act against real sets and actors instead of green screens like in the MCU film.

“I think the Marvel movie, actually. But I don’t know… This was, physically, actually harder than Ant-Man. Ant-Man was the easiest job of my life. It was really fun… And this one was just as fun, but it was different. We had a real set, we had real props, real people. So whatever inspiration you get is from what’s happening right in front of you and I didn’t have to make it up, there was no green screen. And that was much more freeing than I was prepared for.”
Fans Upset Over Newton’s Comment.
Soon after the interview was released to the public, a few fans misunderstood the comment Kathryn made, thinking that she was taking a dig at the entire Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania movie itself.
Regrettably, her portrayal of Cassie Lang did not resonate well with the audience back when the movie was released, and she faced harsh criticism on social media as a result. Now, with her recent statement about the film being her easiest job yet, trolls have found a new topic to discuss. On social media platform X, numerous MCU fans remarked that they “could tell” why she found the film easy, citing her portrayal as mediocre.
