Edens Zero is a Japanese manga series by Hiro Mashima, the author of Rave Master, Monster Soul and Fairy Tail, which debuted in the Weekly Shonen Magazine on June 27th, 2018 in Japan.

Shiki is a human who lives in a city filled with only robots. He has lived on Granbell for most of his life after being taken in by the Demon King robot, who became his grandfather-figure.

Now he does repairs for the robots in the park. But the robots then strangely turn against Shiki to force him to leave the planet with Rebecca in order to fulfill their promise to the Demon King, who knew Shiki was destined for greatness. With the ancient powers of Ether Gear, Shiki begins his journey into space, where dragons roam the stars!

Recap of Edens Zero chapter 177

Holy tells Shiki and the others that she wants to join forces with them and that they should meet at her rooftop lounge in an hour. While Rebecca tries to strike up a conversation with Labilia, the latter walks away, prompting the former to observe that something about her is unusual.

After an hour has passed, the gang reconvenes at Holy’s lounge, where she gets right to work.

Firstly, she didn’t vote for or against Shiki joining Oracion Seis Galactica. Secondly, she wants to team up with him to take down another member of the group: Deadend Crow, a mass-murdering android who has killed countless people. She claims he has joined forces with Ziggy and is currently on Lendard.

Holy offers Shiki some time to think about her decision, and the rest of the gang departs. Unbeknownst to them, the drunken perverts tormenting Labilia propose that they kidnap Rebecca for their own “fun.”

The guys, on the other hand, begin to melt and turn into mounds of goo. Meanwhile, Holy laughs sadistically, predicting that all the filth will “melt away.”

What to expect from chapter 178 of Edens Zero

We can see in the previous episode that she doesn’t appear to be lying about Deadend Crow. Our best assumption is that she’s attempting to use Shiki to weaken Crow and Ziggy so she can destroy them and then take out Shiki. Shiki shouldn’t let his guard down around her, whatever she’s plotting.

On a happier note, the chapter concludes with Labilia returning to Rebecca to speak with her. We can say that she’s telling the truth when she says she needs to speak with Rebecca, given how humble she’s become post-timeskip.

The last thing she says, however, is a little troubling. Is there a problem with Labilia? The following chapter, hopefully, will put some light on this.
