As per the latest reports, the Income Tax department conducted raids at actor Taapsee Pannu and filmmaker Anurag Kashyap’s houses. Some reports also suggest that the properties of filmmaker Vikas Bahl also came under the scanner.
Taapsee recently criticized the solidarity shown by Bollywood celebrities towards the government in response to pop sensation Rihanna‘s post regarding the farmer’s protest.
The actress stated that “If one tweet rattles your unity, one-joke rattles your faith, or one show rattles your religious belief, then it’s you who has to work on strengthening your value system, not become propaganda teachers for others.”
Kashyap has been very vocal about CAA. He views the law to be an evil one and has spoken openly in support of the protestors. Last year, he lent his support to actress Rhea Chakraborty in the Sushant Singh Rajput case. He called out big Bollywood actors for not speaking up about the same.
Maharashtra’s ministers dismissed the tax raids, saying that Anurag and Taapsee are being targeted because of their opinions. The two have often raised their voice against the central government. Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik views this action by Modi’s government as an attempt to suppress their voices.
Meanwhile, the Taapsee Pannu and Anurag Kashyap duo have resumed their shoot for DobaaraDobaara. They’ll also be collaborating for the second installation of Manmarziyaan.
