Iron Man Easter Egg in Deadpool & Wolverine.

Marvel Studios dropped the new Deadpool & Wolverine trailer, packed with Easter eggs and nods. Clocking in at just 2.5 minutes, it’s filled with references from previous X-Men movies and introduces new Marvel characters to live-action for the first time. Of course, there are also some Marvel Cinematic Universe Easter eggs sprinkled throughout. While the giant Ant-Man corpse and the appearance of Alioth are clear MCU references in the trailer, there’s another one hiding in plain sight – a nod to Tony Stark, aka Iron Man.

Fans of Marvel may remember seeing set photos from Deadpool & Wolverine that showed several post-apocalyptic cars traversing The Void wasteland. Among them was a car resembling Johann Schmidt’s Coupe from Captain America: The First Avenger. Now it’s confirmed that this car not only bears a resemblance but also features a unique hood ornament. Instead of the HYDRA logo seen on Red Skull’s car, this one has Iron Man’s mask as its hood ornament.

Iron Man Nod in Deadpool & Wolverine Trailer

Many fans speculate that this car belonged to a variant of Tony Stark from another timeline in the multiverse. The hot rod paint job is a favorite of Tony Stark‘s throughout the MCU, so a car with that style and featuring the Iron Man hood ornament makes sense.

The appearance of this car in the trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine suggests that an entire timeline was pruned, and its remnants have found their way into the wasteland. It may serve as a bridge for Deadpool and other X-Men characters to interact with heroes like Iron Man, even if it’s just a passing reference in dialogue.
