Kevin Feige’s Unfulfilled Promise: Will Moon Knight Ever Join the MCU’s Movie Lineup?

What Did Kevin Feige Promise About Moon Knight’s Future in the MCU?

Back in 2019, long before Moon Knight even premiered on Disney+, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige appeared on The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast and made a bold claim. He promised that several new Disney+ heroes — including Moon Knight, She-Hulk, and Ms. Marvel — would transition from the small screen to the big screen.

Feige said:

“Some characters we’ve announced, like She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, and Moon Knight, you will meet for the first time on a Disney+ show, and then they’ll go into the movies.”

That statement, made just months after Avengers: Endgame, set major expectations. Fans were thrilled at the idea of seeing Oscar Isaac’s mysterious vigilante share the screen with Marvel’s biggest heroes.

Has Kevin Feige Kept His Promise About Moon Knight?

So far, no. Despite the success of Moon Knight’s Disney+ series, the character has yet to appear in any MCU film. In fact, since the show’s release in 2022, Moon Knight has been completely absent from the Marvel universe’s ongoing storyline.

Feige’s other promises have also been met with mixed results. Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani) crossed over into the film side with The Marvels, but She-Hulk (Tatiana Maslany) hasn’t appeared in a movie yet either. That means Feige’s pledge remains only partially fulfilled — and Moon Knight fans are still waiting.

Could Moon Knight Appear in Avengers: Doomsday?

If any project could justify Moon Knight’s cinematic debut, it would be Avengers: Doomsday, the next major crossover event expected to rival Avengers: Endgame in scale. However, there’s one major problem: Oscar Isaac’s name was missing from the film’s official cast announcement.

While surprise cameos are always possible in the MCU, Moon Knight’s abrupt appearance in Doomsday without any narrative buildup might feel disconnected. His series ended on a mysterious note, and jumping straight into a massive ensemble film could confuse fans who want closure on his personal arc first.

What’s Next for Moon Knight in the MCU?

The likelihood of a Moon Knight Season 2 has dimmed over time, but there’s renewed hope in Marvel’s rumored Midnight Sons project — a darker, supernatural team-up film that could feature characters like Blade, Ghost Rider, and Moon Knight himself.

If that movie moves forward, it could be the perfect bridge between Disney+ and the MCU’s theatrical universe, setting up Moon Knight’s eventual inclusion in larger team-based stories.

Until then, Kevin Feige’s 2019 promise remains unfulfilled — and fans are left wondering when (or if) Marc Spector will finally step onto the big screen alongside Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
