MakeMyTrip Launches AI Travel Assistant in Hindi & English to Simplify Trip Planning

In a major leap toward democratizing travel planning, MakeMyTrip has launched a generative AI-powered trip assistant that works via voice and text, now available in both Hindi and English. This new tool aims to make holiday planning easier for millions of Indians by removing the need for rigid filters or advanced English fluency.

Currently in beta, the assistant helps users navigate everything from finding destinations to post-booking support through natural, open-ended conversations. Whether it’s asking, “Mujhe Udaipur mein 3-star hotel 3500 ke budget mein chahiye,” or planning a multi-city itinerary without flights, the AI responds in real-time with availability and pricing.

The tool goes beyond static search. It dynamically builds itineraries, allows changes, and completes bookings—all within a single chat interface. Built on a multi-agent GenAI framework, it spans flights, hotels, packages, ground transport, visa support, and forex. It supports multimodal input, including voice and text, and plans to incorporate image and video soon.

Rajesh Magow, Co-Founder and Group CEO, emphasized that the launch reflects MakeMyTrip’s goal of reaching deeper into the “Bharat heartland.” He noted that most digital platforms serve English-speaking users, and this assistant helps bridge that gap.

Group CTO Sanjay Mohan called it “one of the most ambitious tech builds” the company has ever undertaken. He said the AI was trained to work across multiple categories with real-time planning and scheduling capabilities.

MakeMyTrip began integrating GenAI into its systems in 2023 with tools like Fare Lock and Zero Cancellation. This latest upgrade allows travellers to move from trip inspiration to confirmed bookings through a simple, natural language conversation.

Upcoming features will include semantic search upgrades and visual queries, enabling users to upload media and receive tailored travel plans.
