Marvel Studios Releases WandaVision Documentary for Free on YouTube

Marvel Studios

Marvel Studios has ventured into a new direction by releasing its first in-house documentary, Assembled: The Making of WandaVision, for free on YouTube. This move marks a significant shift as it’s the first time a full Assembled episode has been made available outside Disney+, giving fans broader access to exclusive behind-the-scenes content.

What is Marvel Studio’s Assembled Series?

Marvel’s Assembled series is an ongoing documentary collection that explores the making of each MCU movie and Disney+ series. Typically released after a project’s debut, these episodes provide about an hour of in-depth interviews, exclusive footage, and insights into the creative processes behind the MCU’s most iconic films and shows. From cast interviews to technical breakdowns, the Assembled series gives fans a closer look at how their favorite stories are brought to life.

Marvel Studios’ First Free Documentary Release

In a surprise move, Marvel Studios made The Making of WandaVision available for free viewing on YouTube. Previously, Assembled documentaries were exclusively available on Disney+, making this release a unique opportunity for fans who don’t subscribe to the platform.

This isn’t the first time Marvel has used YouTube to release exclusive content. Earlier in 2023, Marvel Studios uploaded episodes of Marvel Legends—another documentary series that revisits iconic MCU characters—on YouTube ahead of the release of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

Fans can now relive the magic of WandaVision, the MCU’s first-ever Disney+ series, by exploring the hard work and dedication that went into crafting the show. The full-assembled episode provides insights into how the series pushed boundaries with its unique sitcom-inspired storytelling while setting the stage for Phase 4 of the MCU.

What Marvel Content Could Be Released Next?

With 27 documentaries currently available on Disney+, including 21 episodes of Assembled, it’s uncertain what other content might be made available on YouTube. However, early Disney+ projects like The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Loki could be the next in line for free release.

Other noteworthy documentaries, such as the special tribute to Marvel legend Stan Lee and the preview of the highly anticipated Deadpool & Wolverine, may also follow suit, providing fans with even more behind-the-scenes content.

As the MCU expands into Phases 5 and 6, Marvel Studios could continue to broaden its reach across platforms, giving fans even more access to its celebrated productions.
