One Piece Anime to Take 3 Month Break: No More Weekly Episodes

One Piece is going through one of its major story arcs right now, and Toei Animation announced that it will be going on a short break.
One Piece took a 6-month break this year before it entered the Egghead arc, and now the anime will be going into another break.
Starting from January 2026, the anime will be going on a 3-month break and resume with the Elbaf arc in April 2026.
Don’t worry, the break will happen only after the end of the Egghead arc.
No More Weekly Episodes
From next year on, the One Piece anime will not have weekly episodes but will become a seasonal anime.
From 2026, there will be only 26 episodes per year. Usually, fans get to enjoy at least 40 to 50 episodes a year, but to maintain the gap between manga and anime, One Piece will become a seasonal anime.
From April 2026, each new episode will adapt a single manga chapter, aiming for higher production quality and pacing consistency.
The official announcement has elicited various reactions from fans, with most of them being disappointed with the wait. But manga keeping the weekly schedule is the only good news we have for now.
What Comes After Elbaf Arc?
With the announcement, Toei Animation also released the Elbaf character design for fans to enjoy. But the question remains about what comes after that.
Manga is currently deep into the God Valley flashback, and after that, we will witness the fight between the Elbaf warriors and the Holy Knights.
We are yet to see how bad the Domi Reversi effect on Elbaf is, so after these events, rumour is that the Straw Hat Crew will travel to the Pirate Island to confront the Blackbeard Pirates.
While there are other rumours that they will head directly into the Lodestar arc, where the Straw Hats head toward the final island in the Grand Line.
