Marvel Stars Remain Silent In Scarlett Johansson’s Lawsuit Against Disney

A week ago, Scarlett Johansson made headlines with news that she will be filing a lawsuit against the parent company of Marvel because of Black Widow. Scarlett Johansson’s lawsuit against Disney alleged that there was a breach of contract. However, even after several days have passed, other Marvel stars have not really voiced their opinions when it comes to this case.

It’s easy for the public and Marvel fans to think that the silence from the other celebrities simply means that they do not support Johansson in her legal fight with Disney. But a big question arises: Why do Scarlett Johansson’s Marvel co-stars remain silent instead of supporting her? Are they afraid of Disney and going against a company as big as theirs?

Scarlett Johansson’s Lawsuit Against Disney

Johansson filed a lawsuit against Disney on July 29 over the ignorance of the Black Widow contract. Johansson and her legal team alleged that the immediate release of Black Widow on the Disney+ streaming platform put the nail on the coffin. They said that because of this, Black Widow did not do well in the Box Office as it should have.

Whatever the truth is, it sure is strange to see not a single Marvel actor coming to side with Johansson at the moment. The most recent news report we have is Marvel President Kevin Feige’s reaction of being “angry and embarrassed” as per The Hollywood Reporter, and that was it.

Previous Cases Where They Spoke Up

Johansson’s Marvel co-stars like Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans as well as others have not expressed their support or acknowledgment of the actor’s fight with Disney at all. It’s important to note that this is a stark contrast to certain incidents that have taken place over the years.

Back in 2013, the Iron Man star himself had a problem quite similar to this one. The actor was considering moving away from the role because he wanted better payment for his works. This was because Marvel Studios did not meet his salary demands. Therefore, taking the experience, it’s weird to see him not standing up for the Black Widow actor too.
