Spider-Man 4 Release Window: When Will Tom Holland Return as Peter Parker?

A new update may finally reveal when fans can see Tom Holland back as Peter Parker in Spider-Man 4.
In August 2022, eight months after Spider-Man: No Way Home hit theaters, former Sony Pictures executive Amy Pascal confirmed that Spider-Man 4 was in development. Unfortunately, progress has been slow.
The project was even put on hold temporarily in 2023 due to the Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike. Tom Holland mentioned that there had been meetings about Spider-Man 4 before the strike began.
Many believed that Spider-Man 4 could hit theaters on June 27, 2025—a date Sony Pictures has reserved for an untitled Marvel film. However, with no filming started yet, it’s unlikely the movie will meet this date.
Recently, Alex Perez from The Cosmic Circus predicted that Spider-Man 4 would be released after Daredevil: Born Again but before Avengers: Doomsday.
Insider Jeff Sneider also suggested the film might start shooting in September or October of this year. However, this seems doubtful due to the lack of official updates.
The Direct published a prediction breakdown titled “Spider-Man 4 Release: When Will Tom Holland’s Sequel Come Out?” earlier this summer.
When Will MCU Spider-Man 4 Release?
According to Daniel Richtman on Patreon, the release window for Spider-Man 4 has been set.
Richtman mentioned, “This will now film next year” and is “slated to release in July 2026.” He added that the film would come out between Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars, suggesting another multiverse storyline.
It’s important to note that neither Sony Pictures nor Marvel Studios has officially confirmed this information, so it’s still a rumor at this point.
The Future of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man
If this movie releases between Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars, it’s likely to have a multiverse theme. Many fans already expect Spider-Man to play a role in Avengers 5.
This news may disappoint some fans who hoped for a more grounded story. Many wanted to see Spider-Man take on villains like Kingpin and Scorpion, or cross paths with Black Cat and team up with Daredevil.
These elements don’t necessarily align with a multiverse plot, especially if the Avengers lose in Doomsday, leading to the creation of Battleworld—a mashup of multiple realities.
However, there could be a silver lining. The movie’s timeline might allow for a reunion with Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Men. With the success of Deadpool & Wolverine, Marvel Studios may be eager to bring back more nostalgic heroes.
