Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse was set to release in the theaters in March 2024 as announced by Sony Pictures, being the conclusion of the Spider-Verse trilogy. But, it was eventually delayed indefinitely, causing disappointment among the fans who were eagerly waiting for the movie.
However, the fans might have just gotten their first clue of the release date for the movie, all thanks to the music artist D4VD, also known as David Anthony Burke, who surprised people around the world with his latest post on TikTok, hinting that the Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will hit the theaters sometime in 2025.
The singer replied to a fan comment on his TikTok video who was enjoying the new song “Feel It” written and sung by D4VD for the Invincible series, saying, “I can only make one happy song a year,” followed by the caption “See you next year when Spider-Man comes out.”
New release window for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse
According to a Reddit user named JuggerClutch, D4VD reacted to his song “Feel It” from Invincible on Twitch. When a fan mentioned that the song reminded them of Miles and Gwen from The Spider-Verse, and if he would be working on any more shows and movies, D4VD simply responded, “I got news for you buddy. Beyond the Spider-Verse. That’s all I’m gonna say.”
The movie was taken off the official release slate of Sony back in July 2023 and there were no reasons given for the action, except the producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller admitting that it will come out “when it’s ready.”
A report stated that more than 100 people working on the film left because they couldn’t handle working 11 hours a day, seven days a week, with constant changes. Phil Lord responded by saying, “We’re really proud of how hard everybody worked, and it was very demanding.”
The voice recording of the movie was paused because of the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike but resumed its work in November of the same year.
Can 2025 be the release year ?
Sony Pictures has a slot open for June 2025 on the calendar and fans now speculate that to be the potential release date for the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s movie Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.
However, it is still not clear considering there is a new unannounced Spider-Man 4 movie starring Tom Holland, that is yet to have a release date to its name and some people believe that slot to be filled with the Spider-Man 4 movie.
