Stars and Their Spouses- How Different Are They From Us, Really?

There have been, more often than not, slogans that have been flashed around by countless celebrities and people in showbiz that make it a point for the public to know how “celebrities are just like ordinary people.”

A thorough search into the dating histories and relationships of Stars and Their Spouses would mostly prove otherwise. Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez 172fa168a11 original ratio 4aa955748c40a2a7eecb8b7c1ad3733c image

An instance of this is the kind of relationship that actors in Hollywood often share with their spouses. And lest you forget, a friendly reminder from our end most of it isn’t all dreamy and rosy as we would imagine it to be.

There have been multiple instances of actor-on-actor romances that have blossomed off-screen as well. We often see these fraught with media attention and questions of whether they are publicity stunts or not to boost the ratings for the films in question. All said and done, films of this sort have given us some of the most iconic couples Hollywood may have seen so far. When the co-stars of the Twilight Saga (2008-2012), Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson were revealed to be dating in real life, fans lost their minds and the actors were catapulted into a kind of dizzying fan-following that can only be amassed with a kind of couple-worship borne out of blurring the lines between fiction and reality.

However, prominent as they may be, these two lovebirds weren’t the first actors to fall in love on set. Stars such as Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes, Johnny Depp, and Winona Ryder, and so many more can be added to the list of celebrities who feel the sparks fly even when the cameras were off. Not surprisingly, a lot of these romances did not last very long- but the iconic nature of these pairings can be denied by very few.

However, one can hardly blame people in show biz for wanting to date and couple up with others who are in the same boat as them. Research shows that lifestyle differences and communication barriers become extremely prominent when people from show-biz date ‘ordinary people’. This is also understandable as actors and celebrities face the kind of scrutiny and careful monitoring from tabloids and all forms of media that very few can put up with- let alone someone who is not really from the entertainment industry.

However, all is not lost, for there are still a few glamourous celebrities who have settled down with their not-so-popular partners. Dolly Parton has been married to her long-time spouses, a businessman, for over fifty-six years- and they have always been fiercely protective of their privacy. Pop sensation Ariana Grande too recently tied the knot in 2021 with her partner Dalton Gomez, a real estate agent.

Even when celebrities with incredible star power settle down with their partners (usually the ones who seem to be able to make it work), there is an apparent craving for a kind of comfort and marked movement away from a lifestyle that is extremely see-through and transparent, and one that they are mostly used to- instead opting to be more homely and elusive in the long run.
