The Way of the Househusband Season 2: Release Date and Expectations

The action-comedy series “The Way of the Househusband” is an adaptation of a manga of the same name authored by Kousuke Oono. While the manga was published in 2018, the Netflix original anime series was released recently in April 2021.

Though the anime is considered rather a disappointment compared to the original material by many fans, the creators have decided to come back with another instalment. However, at the same time, viewers are anxiously waiting for its release, hoping for a better remake than the previous one.

We have gathered here everything you need to know about The Way of the Househusband Season 2. Do read further!

The Way of the Househusband Season 2 Release Date

The second season of the anime is set to premiere on October 7, 2021, and will be streamed on Netflix. Though the first season couldn’t do much justice to the manga, its perfect mix of comedy and action received positive remarks.

Previous cast members and staff will be back to reprise their roles. We might also witness new characters in the upcoming episodes. Subaru Kimura as Gōda and Tomokazu Sugita as Bob are confirmed to appear in the coming season.

The second part of the series’ opening theme is “Chef no Michi”, while the ending is “Gokushufukaidō”, both performed by Uchikubigokumon-Dōkōkai.

What can we expect from Season 2?

The series follows the story of an ex-yakuza boss named Tatsu who retires from crime and becomes a househusband, to support his wife. Many hilarious scenes showcase his life as a househusband, and also his frequent run-ins with formal yakuza partners and rivals.

As the first part used only a few chapters from the manga, there are enough materials left to be adapted. No doubt, the second season will be a continuation of the original storyline.

Although the first season received some bad reviews, the good points are enough for it to come back with a new release. So don’t let it prevent you from watching the upcoming season. Regardless, it is still one of the best satirical comedies out there!
