Tokyo Revengers Manga Finally Entering the Final Arc!
Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine declared on 26 May (Wednesday) that Tokyo Revengers Manga will enter the final arc. The first volume of the final arc will be published on June 2, 2021. It will be available on Kodansha a couple of days later.
The manga by Ken Wakui enjoys a wide audience, especially with the ongoing season anime (Spring 2021 anime); the manga is also updating alongside the Live-Action movie that premiered on 10 April 2021.
Netizens expect the anime to be among the highest-rated anime of the season (Spring 2021). And not without reason, Tokyo Revengers has garnered a huge following in the last couple of weeks.
Kodansha is releasing the English translation of the manga digitally. It offers a couple of free chapters and a free 30 days trial.
Wakui had also serialised Shinjuku Swan manga between 2005 and 2013. It inspired a TV series in 2007 and two live actions in 2015 and 2016.
The story follows 26-year-old Hanagaki “Takemitchy” Takemichi who lives a wasted adult life. He sees the news where his middle school ex-girlfriend is killed due to a conflict between gangs in Tokyo. Someone pushes him off the rails in front of an oncoming Metro train, and he finds himself twelve years in the past.
Resolved to change the course of events and saving his ex-girlfriend, the story takes us in a back and forth between the past and the present. The present changes exponentially every time he goes back to the past.
Takemitchy does have a happy ending in the previous arc, it is without Mikey. This arc may provide a closure for the members of the Tokyo Manji Gang, Mikey in particular. The final arc will focus on Takemitchy saving Mikey. HopefullyMikey will finally be happy!
