Now, with GOT or its prequel House of the Dragon, you need to remember that there is nothing called coincidence.
There is no mention of anything or anyone without an underlying meaning behind it, so this person we heard mentioned in the series’ first Small Council meeting is no ordinary man.
Well, we get why Lord Corlys Velaryon is worried about him, he is, after all, affecting the navy ports. Well, here is another fact about Velaryon, not only is he annoying, but apparently, he is said to be richer than the Lannisters.
Who is Carghas Dragar?
Carghas Dragar, who is also called the Carghas Crabfeeder, is a nightmare to the pirates and the admiral of Triarchy, who led the armies of Lys, Myr, and Tyrosh to take over the control of Stepstones from outlaws and pirates.
As said by King Viserys, he is not of big significance as he is doing them all a favor by taking out pirates and outlaws, which is a good thing.
In the later years, Carghas and his army help out many kingdoms by clearing out the pirates in the area, not out of goodwill but for a toll.
As years passed, their intentions did turn, but not to worry, the demon prince, Daemon Targaryen, decided to behead him in the long battle of Stepstones.
The war lasted for two whole years, and the reason for its beginning was Lord Corlys Velaryon, who was heavily affected by the increasing toll amount Carghas charged in the years to clear out the pirates.
So, the world of Westeros got to witness our glory and power-hungry prince, Daemon Targaryen, draw out his Dark Sister sword along with the manipulative Velaryon to chase out the army of Triarchy.
The war started out in 106 AC and ended in 108 AC with the death of Carghas and the disposal of the Traiarchy army from the land.
