Who Is Playing Black Panther in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever?

Shuri was the biological heir to the throne and given the MCU’s new girls and women first approach. It took us over a decade just to get Captain Marvel and now in one year we get WandaVision, Black Widow, Ms. Marvel, and Ironheart, not to mention a new lady Loki. That’s why Shuri would be a good bet but let’s remember some important things:

  1. To become king (or queen) of Wakanda, you have to be able to fight any Wakandan challenger, and win. T’Chaka did it, so did T’Challa, and even Killmonger. So the next ruler of Wakanda is not guaranteed to be Shuri.
  2. There are no ceremonial heart-shaped herbs left, which is the source of the Black Panther’s power. There is a likelihood that there are some growing wild in Wakanda, but if not the Wakandans could look for someone who is superpowered by other means.

At the end of the day, BP2 sounds like it will be an ensemble cast focusing on themes of Afro-futurism, rather than the journey of just one hero. If we get a new Black Panther named, we don’t anticipate it to go well.

Either way, Disney will be very tight-lipped about it. This mystery will drive the sales of tickets for Wakanda Forever, and our corporate media overlords will certainly take advantage of that.
