Why does the Small Council have Crystal Balls in House of the Dragon?
We know about the seven members of the Small Council that sit in place to advise the king, which they are best known to ignore, but these crystal balls in House of the Dragon are new.
While die-hard fans are advised to say out of the internet to avoid inherent spoilers, we definitely understand your struggle, but that won’t stop us from spinning theories and stories on what we got.
So if you haven’t streamed the first episode of House of the Dragon, we suggest you take a long lunch break today, sit by the water cooler, and watch the series because there is no escaping from the spoilers with GOT or its prequel HOD.
What is the Small Council?
Well, if the world of Westeros consists of a seven-member close council to the king, including the hand of the king and the General Maester at times.
They sit in council with the king lending their opinions and bringing in the latest news around the kingdom that needs the king’s attention.
In Game of Thrones, we saw how much a good and bad council could affect the monarch’s future.
Why do they have crystal balls in the Small Council?
The thing that got us interested in the Small Council scenes other than the time Daemon provoked Otto Hightower wildly was when they placed a crystal ball-like structure before the seven seats on the table.
While we have no idea what the crystal ball symbolizes and why they have it placed, particularly when they are only seated, for instance, when Daemon was seen missing from his seat at the council in the first Small Council meeting in the first episode, we saw his crystal ball missing.
Now, not all have the same color crystal, for instance, the color of Daemon’s crystal is black, while the one before the King’s seat looks a little burnt.
Looks like we might have to wait a little more to know more about these mysterious balls placed on the Small Council table.
