Will Harry Styles Return to the MCU? Kevin Feige Finally Addresses Eternals Cliffhanger

When Harry Styles made his surprise debut in the MCU as Eros in the post-credit scene of Eternals, fans were buzzing. As the charming brother of Thanos, his arrival alongside Pip the Troll seemed to promise big cosmic plans. But four years later, nothing concrete has materialized. No sequel. No spinoff. Just silence. Now, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has finally addressed the question: will Harry Styles return?

In a recent interview with GamesRadar+, Feige explained that Marvel has “plans for some and opportunities for all.” While that sounds hopeful on the surface, he also acknowledged that some characters “maybe we’ll never see again,” suggesting that not every setup will lead to a payoff.

He drew an unexpected comparison to Tim Blake Nelson, who first appeared as Samuel Sterns in The Incredible Hulk back in 2008. His transformation into the villain known as The Leader was left unresolved for nearly 17 years before finally resurfacing in Captain America: Brave New World. In Feige’s words, “Who knows?” how long it might take for Eros to return.

What’s clear is that Marvel Studios won’t force a character into a storyline just because they’ve appeared before. Feige emphasized that they prioritize strong narratives over fan service. While Marvel values the actors behind these characters, they won’t reshape plots just to include someone from a past project.

Still, fans have some reason to hope. Though Eternals didn’t land as expected with audiences, its characters have made low-key appearances in projects like What If…? and experimental experiences like Apple’s Vision Pro, where Eros appeared defending Thanos. Reports suggest the Eternals aren’t entirely shelved and may play a role after Avengers: Secret Wars.

The real challenge may be logistics. Styles is a global music icon, and the rest of the Eternals cast includes other high-profile names like Barry Keoghan, Kumail Nanjiani, Angelina Jolie, and Kit Harington. Reuniting such a packed lineup will be no easy feat.

Yet the MCU’s cosmic future is wide open. With Arishem’s threat still looming, there’s a strong chance that the Eternals’ storyline will resurface. Whether Styles is still on board when that happens is anyone’s guess.

Until then, Eros remains in limbo — a celestial wildcard waiting for his moment.
