Will There Be Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry Season 2?

Adapted from a popular light novel, the anime series The Chivalry of a Failed Knight has received overwhelming popularity. In Japanese, it is also known as Rakudai Kishi No Cavalry. Even the light novel has hit a record-high sales figure of 1.5 million copies. The anime featured  in the top-selling anime charts too.

However, disappointingly for fans, a second season was never aired after its first season aired in late 2015. There is also a lack of confirmation or any official confirmation from the studio about Season 2. Hence, many conjectures and speculations have been proposed by fans to understand why there has been complete silence from its studio.

Read further to find out if there will ever be a second season of this anime.

Plot of Rakudai Kishi No Cavalry

The plot of Rakudai Kishi No Cavalry anime is set in an alternate universe, where magic and demons coexist with humans with magical powers called “Blazers”. These “Blazers” wield weapons called “Device” made from their own souls, which they can materialize out of thin air.

The series shows the adventures of Ikki Kurogane, an F-Rank Blazer and Stella Vermillion, a top A-Rank Blazer. As the duo is forced to share a room together at Hagun Academy, they form a bond and share many fun adventures together.

Will there ever be a Season 2?

Even after a long period of five years, there is no further news about the possibility of Season 2 being released. This has left many fans dejected and hence, it looks very unlikely that Season 2 will ever get released. This prediction is made, even with the knowledge that the light novel is still getting released and amassing popularity.

Also, there are some notable theories among the many theories available on the internet. There is this trend of many anime shows receiving lesser profit in the second season than they did in the first. This could possibly explain the studio’s reluctance to take up the Season 2 project.

Unfortunately, this means that we won’t get to see how the relationship between Ikki and Stella develops or if it gets a romantic touch. The romantic comedy aspect of this anime was a huge selling point for many. If you want to find out more, you can start reading from Volume 4 of the light novel.

A spin-off is also likely but even though Season 2 is increasingly getting unlikely, we can never rule it out.
