Will there ever be a Noragami Season 3?

Noragami is an anime TV series adapted from the hugely popular manga written by Adachitoka. The anime studio Bones already released two seasons of Noragami.

Noragami’s Season 1 aired on Japanese television in the early months of 2014. It was quickly followed up by a second season, which was released in the last three months of 2015.

However, even after a lull of almost 5 years, the anime has never been renewed for a third season. This has made many fans mad and impatient for any official announcement from the studio or the mangaka.

Let’s get deep into the situation and understand the possibilities of the release of Noragami Season 3.

Release Date of Noragami Season 3

Noragami hasn’t been officially renewed for a third season. There hasn’t been any news about the renewal and release of the third season. Whatever info there is about it is pure hopeful speculation from fans.

What makes the situation even more dire is that the second season didn’t have a proper ending. The ending was too vague and unsatisfying because of which many peeps desperately want a third season made.

In the absence of an official announcement, it’s pointless to speculate on the possible release date of Noragami Season 3. Also, there’s a strong likelihood that the COVID-19 pandemic affected the releases of new seasons or shows.

Is Lack of Content the Problem?

Earlier, the release of a new Noragami Season 3 had to be delayed by some time because there wasn’t enough source material. By source material, we mean the Noragami manga being serialized frequently.

However, the problem doesn’t seem to be the lack of content to work on. In fact, 22 volumes of the manga have already been released. The anime has covered only 9 volumes of the Noragami Manga.

This means that there is more than plenty of source material with which the anime can make a third season. Since the Noragami Manga is still in progress, the lack of content doesn’t seem to be the problem at all.
