What Makes Yami Sukehiro Dark Magic so Unique in Black Clover?
Yami Sukehiro is a descendant of the Yami Clan from the Hino Country. As a child, he fled the country and arrived in the Clover Kingdom. He later joined the Grey Deer squad of the Magic Knights and later became the first captain of the Black Bull squad.

Yami has a three-leaf clover grimoire that contains various dark magic. Dark Magic is one of the rarest types of magic, and he is the strongest users of Dark Magic. Dark Magic is generated as a result of Yami manipulating the powerful and dangerous element of darkness at will. Yami’s usage of Dark Magic is itself a unique sight to behold as he primarily uses it by channeling it through his katana.
Not only is the Dark Magic extremely powerful it also possesses the ability to draw in other types or forms of magic absorbing them into darkness. Yami has mastered Dark Magic, its attributes and abilities which in turn fused with the physical strength and magic prowess makes him an arcane stage mage which is the highest stage of power that a mage can achieve.

Reinforcement Magic: Yami uses this form of magic to increase his physical abilities. It also allows him to make up for the slow speed of his Dark Magic. His skill is great enough to remain standing under the immense pressure of Dante Zogratis’s devil-boosted Gravity Magic
Restraining Magic: Yami uses this form of magic to restrain his opponents with darkness.
Compound Magic: Yami combines his Dark Magic with others’ magic to create more powerful spells.

Grimoire: Yami possesses a three-leaf clover grimoire that contains various dark-based spells.
Katana: In combat, Yami uses a katana, a type of sword from his homeland, the Hino Country. As such, he has to have the sword custom-made.
Communication Device: Yami possesses a small device that allows him to communicate with the members of his squad. It can only transmit audio.
Mistilteinn Blade: A wooden sword created by William Vangeance, it is filled with World Tree Magic.
