Captain America’s Ass Reportedly Edited Out Of Avengers: Endgame TV Version
The Craze About Captain America’s Ass:
One of the biggest fan-favourite moments in last year’s Avengers: Endgame was the joke Ant-Man made about Captain America’s Ass. The film, along with other things, blew fans away with its epic plot, insane action sequences and heart-breaking consequences which affected the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. But it was the phrase “America’s ass” which started a cultural fanbase of its own.
However, with the movie been out for many months, it is starting to make its way to televised broadcasts. And with that, it is also undergoing a few edits.
The Televised Version Of Avengers: Endgame:
One Marvel fan, and Reddit user, who was in the hospital when he watched the Avengers: Endgame Tv Series version, has a different opinion. According to the user, the movie did not include a lot of cussing and strong language which was there in the original film. Furthermore, it also cut out the entirety of any mention there was of Captain America’s Ass. And this is despite the “America’s ass” proving to be a popular line amongst fans.
It is also important to note that the Reddit user mentioned that none of the violence sequences was cut from the film. And this includes the scene where Thanos loses both his arms along with his head due to Thor’s axe.
The Craziness Surrounding Captain America’s Ass:
To see it one way, it is funny that Captain America’s Ass still continues to have a major impact on the film, even after so many months of its release. Moreover, it is something that took birth out of reality, just like many other great storylines. In this regards, Endgame co-writer Stephen McFeely has previously explained a fun fact. He says that actor Chris Evans, who plays Captain America in the MCU, did not enjoy wearing the costume from Marvel’s The Avengers.
McFeely says, “It’s a little meta. Chris Evans has never been comfortable with that outfit from the first Avengers movie. And so in the rearview, it’s a little way to wink at how that was then, and this is now. And then it sort of just built from there. By the time we got to the fight scene where he defeated himself, his butt is on the ground and he was just sitting there for a callback.”McFeely also explains that this scene was among one of the last sequences Evans ever shot for Marvel Studios since he previously thought it was a “stupid” line of dialogue.
Evans, on this topic, has said, “Well, you know, it was reshot, so you’re doing these little picks and pops, and it’s just little things that they need.” “It might have been a line to Paul Rudd. He wasn’t there, but it was a stupid line. The line wasn’t memorable to me [laughs]. The day was more memorable than the line.”For now, fans can watch Endgame, along with Captain America’s Ass, by streaming the movie on Disney Plus.
