The film has its basis on the autobiographical book by Nico Walker. Walker is currently serving prison time for bank robbery.
The film also stars Bill Skarsgard, Jack Reynor and Michael Gandolfini. The New Russo Brothers Movie also represents a sharp left turn for both the Russo brothers as well as Holland. This is because they are moving away from the superhero world into a new world. This new world is much grittier and has real-life problems. Furthermore, it showcases the struggle against mental illness, addiction as well as financial issues.
