My Hero Academia Releases Emotional Live-Action – Succession
To mark its 10th anniversary on July 7, 2024, the My Hero Academia series by Kohei Horikoshi released a special live-action video online for fans worldwide.
Titled “Succession,” the 11-minute film is available on the official Shonen Jump YouTube channel. It follows the journey of a boy named Haruto, who documents his life through a video blog. From facing setbacks in Japanese football to experiencing heartbreak, Haruto finds solace and inspiration in the words of wisdom inspired by All Might.
Celebrating 10 Years of Superheroes
As a young adult, Haruto now has his little brother by his side. When Haruto leaves for college, his brother rushes to see him one last time before feeling sad on the street. The film shows that years ago, Haruto made motivational videos for his baby brother to support him when he couldn’t be there. Before leaving, Haruto gives his brother an emotional speech like All Might’s “You too can be a hero” speech to Izuku “Deku” Midoriya in My Hero Academia.
2024, which is the celebrated 10th year, is set to be a monumental year for My Hero Academia. As mentioned, the seventh season is slated to premiere next month, and this summer will also mark the release of the franchise’s fourth movie, My Hero Academia: You’re Next.
My Hero Academia Gearing Up for Season 7
The upcoming seventh season of My Hero Academia is set to make waves next month, with a major highlight being the introduction of Star and Stripe, North America’s top hero. Since her debut in the season six finale, fans have drawn parallels between Cathleen Bate and All Might. To get shonen fans hyped for the return of UA Academy, Studio Bones unveiled a new poster featuring Star and Stripe as she gears up to face off against All for One, Shigaraki, and the League of Villains.
Without delving too much into spoilers, Cathleen Bate earns her title as America’s number one hero for good reason. Her Quirk, New Order, is unlike anything seen in the series thus far and is the key to her resemblance to the former Symbol of Peace.
The first episode of My Hero Academia’s seventh season is scheduled to air on May 4th, marking the beginning of the series’ grand finale. When we last saw Class 1-A, they were facing tough times with Hero Society struggling in the aftermath of the Paranormal Liberation War. Fortunately, Deku has moved past his “Dark Hero” phase and reunited with his classmates to take on the challenges ahead.
