No Way Home Audience Compared to Avengers: Endgame

Avengers Endgame

With an adventure that spans universes, franchises, and fanbases, it is no surprise that Spider-Man: No Way Home has been frequently compared to another Marvel Studios goliath: Avengers: Endgame. Tom Holland’s third outing as the web-slinger is set to be his most ambitious film thus far, leading director Jon Watts to boldly claim that it is “Spider-Man: Endgame.”

Not only is the plot of the Spider-Man threequel on the level of the fourth Avengers film, but so is fan hype. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige compared audience anticipation for No Way Home to Endgame, saying the excitement “is as big as anything we’ve felt before.” The chaotic ticketing experience has also been likened to Endgame’s, with many unable to secure seats in time.

No Way Home Audience Compared to Avengers: Endgame

Amidst other critic reactions to the film, The Hollywood Reporter’s Aaron Couch shared his, and the crowd’s, reaction to Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Couch simply said “wow,” while also stating that the audience was the “loudest crowd [he’s] heard since [Avengers:] Endgame:”

“wow, tears and the loudest crowd I’ve heard since Endgame”

Avengers Endgame Unused Script Teases The Return Of Dormammu

Avengers: Endgame provided a plethora of cheer-worthy moments throughout its 181-minute runtime, from Captain America finally picking up Mjolnir to Iron Man’s heroic sacrifice. There is so much to get hyped for in Spider-Man: No Way Home, so there will undoubtedly be plenty to choose from to match the heights of excitement that Endgame achieved.

The returning villains alone will be enough to induce joyous cries from the audience, finally getting to see them return in full force. Charlie Cox’s potential appearance will be sure to excite those in the know, but may not necessarily appeal to the general viewer unaware of the journey that has led to his possible inclusion.

The big crowd-pleaser would, of course, be Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s returns as their respective webheads, who, should they return, will almost certainly lead to the loudest cheers in the theater.

Fans can whoop, cheer, and holler to their hearts’ content when Spider-Man: No Way Home hits theaters on December 17, 2021.
