About Platinum End
Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata created the manga series Platinum End. It was serialised in Shueisha’s Jump Square monthly magazine from November 2015 to January 2021.
It is a series about a student named Mirai Kakehashi who attempts suicide but is saved by his guardian angel, Nasse, who not only promises to protect him but also bestows special powers upon him because he is one of 13 candidates chosen by various angels to take on the role of God, who will retire in 999 days.
Recap of Platinum End Episode 23
Episode 23 of Platinum End begins off just where the previous episode left off, with a white arrow rushing toward Mirai. He’s prepared to face it when Nasse appears out of nowhere and pulls him from his perch, protecting him from the arrow.
Nasse suddenly stops and is surrounded by a black sphere of energy. As she explains that she has been demoted, half of her body turns to stone. For meddling with her candidate in the contest to become God, she is demoted from a special rank angel to a second rank.
Mirai loses his white arrow as well as his wings as a result, leaving him unable to defend himself from Yoneda’s blows. This is without a doubt Mirai’s most perilous situation in the programme so far.
He’s completely helpless at this moment, with both his and Saki’s lives hanging in the balance. At this point, major shifts in the tides are required for our heroes to have any hope of surviving this ordeal. Fortunately for them, the stars align in another way…
Saki and pals discover a way out of Yoneda’s trap by using Nakaumi’s concerns about murdering individuals who wish to live. Temari even tries to get the upper hand on Yoneda, who sneaks up behind him and shoots the white arrow he provided to Nakaumi.
Yoneda has no idea what’s coming and has no chance of avoiding the onslaught. Nasse, on the other hand, protects Yoneda from the attack in an unexpected turn of events. As a result, she is upgraded to the special level angel she was previously.
Yoneda’s worldview shifts as a result of this. He understands he’s a coward who has never genuinely comprehended people’s sentiments. He abandons his purpose to prevent God’s creation at this point and begins to walk away. It’s a surprising turn of events that doesn’t make complete sense. The transitions here are jarring, and it feels as though the programme is rushing to a climax due to an unusual turn of circumstances.
Spoilers for Platinum End Episode 24
Nakaumi climbs into the sky at the end of the episode, generating a great quantity of light. Since he had finally become a deity, he stated he had removed the selection process. Then, with the exception of Mirai and Saki, he was consumed by God, and everyone but Mirai and Saki lost all memory of what had happened. Every viewer finds this unbelievable, yet because we said it will end in the next episode, here we are.
