Production on Marvel’s Ironheart TV series finally began earlier this year, but another new addition to the show’s cast has just surfaced. Deadline has just reported that XO‘s Regan Aliyah has joined the upcoming Disney+ series in an unknown role. There’s no word how big her role could be, but she’s joining a stacked cast with Dominique Thorne as Riri Wiliams, Anthony Ramos, Alden Ehrenreich, and many more.

The show follows Riri Williams, played by Dominique Thorne, who invents the foremost advanced suit of armor since Iron Man. Thorne is going to debut as Riri Williams in ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, set to hit theatres in November.

According to Deadline, details about Aliyah’s character are still unknown. The six-episode series will see Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes directing with Ryan Coogler’s Proximity serving together the production companies.

Williams is going to be played by Thorne, who was previously seen in the trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, released at San Diego Comic-Con this year. With Iron Man out of the image in the MCU, it seems Riri’s story has been woven into the globe of Wakanda.

Riri Williams

The Black Panther 2 trailer showed her carving the chest plate of her Ironheart suit. Early last month, set photos offered a first look at the Ironheart suit, which looked quite advanced with plenty of upgrades, but didn’t feature the red-and-gold color scheme fans are familiar with.

Much like Regan Aliyah, most cast members have their characters kept under wraps. The only known role besides Thorne’s would be Lyric Ross, who will play William’s best friend role Natalie Washington. Anthony Ramos can play the villain, and there are undisclosed roles in store for Harper Anthony, Alden Ehrenreich, Zoe Terakes, Manny Montana, and Shea Coulee.

The character of Ironheart first made her appearance in comics in 2016 in the Invincible Iron Man comics, with the upcoming series set to tell the story of the 15-year-old genius named Riri Williams, played by Thorne, who can build her own Iron Man suit and sees her becoming the titular hero.
