Marvel Studios is set for a thrilling ending to 2021 with new entries like Hawkeye on Disney+ and Spider-Man: No Way Home in theaters over the next two months. 2022 has three major theatrical releases in-store, but there is still no word on when the year’s slate of six or seven Disney+ series will make their way into the streaming sphere.
Prominent in that bunch is Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel, which was originally scheduled to arrive this year. While filming finished some time ago for the young new hero’s MCU introduction, fans are growing anxious to find out when her story will come to fruition amongst her Disney+ counterparts like She-Hulk and Moon Knight.
Vellani is also confirmed to play a role alongside Brie Larson and Teyonah Parris in 2023’s The Marvels, which will see the trio bring an epic team-up to start that year with a bang. Now, in exciting fashion, fans may have an idea of when Vellani will be making her own debut in relation to that theatrical release.
When Will Ms. Marvel Disney+ Show Release?
Via ComicBook’s Jenna Anderson, the Disney Investor Call confirmed that Marvel Studios’ Ms. Marvel is now set to debut in Summer 2022, sometime between the months of July and September 2022, during Disney’s Quarter 4. No specific release date was shared.
Kamala Khan’s solo series will release within a year of The Marvels, which is scheduled to debut in theaters on February 17, 2023.
The Wait Continues for Ms. Marvel
As previously mentioned, none of 2022’s MCU Disney+ shows have an official release date, which some are hoping will change once Disney+ Day comes on November 12. Now, it appears that Ms. Marvel may be the first one to be somewhat set in stone, giving Marvel six months to release either two or three other shows ahead of Villani’s.
In relation to Vellani’s likely second appearance in The Marvels, her solo show Ms. Marvel will kick off its story in the MCU sometime between five and seven months before her first role in a movie. This timeframe could serve to set up teases for The Marvels after Villan’s Ms. Marvel fully evolves into a superhero, and there are still plenty of other entries making their debuts between her two projects as well.
It’s still unclear why Marvel decided to delay this show’s release to such later date, but the team is still showing plenty of enthusiasm for Kamala Khan’s long-awaited MCU debut.
Recently, actor Mohan Kapur suggested that Ms. Marvel could be set for a release timeframe similar to what was just confirmed, although there was no reason why that was happening. No matter what the reason may be, it’s nice to at least have an idea of when to expect one of the MCU’s new young stars to make her big splash.
Ms. Marvel is expected to release on Disney+ between July and September 2022.
