Actor and voice actor Kirby Morrow passes away at 47

Canadian actor and voice actor Kirby Morrow passed away on the 18th of November, as confirmed by his family. He was 47.

The cause of his death has not been revealed.

His brother, Casey Morror posted in a Facebook post that “Kirby was a blessed and talented individual who brought joy to so many but also thrived off all your love and friendship. He lived for it and it fueled him every day.”

Morrow has the credits of many roles— both live-action and voice acting, under his belt. His IMDb states that his work includes more than 200 credits.

In terms of anime, he was most known for playing Goku in the “Dragon Ball Z” dub by Ocean Productions, Miroku in “Inuyasha”, and Trowa Barton in “”Mobile Suit Gundam Wing”. He reprised the role of Miroku in the ongoing “Inuyasha” spin-off “Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon” when the character made an appearance in the first episode.

Some of his other known voice acting roles are Teru Mikami in “Death Note”, Gord in .hack//Roots, Billy Katagiri in “Mobile Suit Gundam 00”, Van in “Escaflowne”, Ryo Takatsuki in “Project ARMS”, Hot Shot in “Transformers: Cyberton”, and Rad in “Transformers: Armada” and “Transformers: Energon”.

He also voiced characters like Cole in the LEGO Ninjago series, Michelangelo in “Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation”, the Nutcracker Prince in “Barbie in the Nutcracker”, and Tony Stark in “Ultimate Wolverine vs. Hulk” and “Eternals”.

He also played a significant number of live-action roles: most significantly, Cyclops in “X-Men: Evolution”, Captain Dave Kleinman in “Stargate: Atlantis” and later in “Stargate Universe”— as well as other minor roles across the series. Morrow also starred in “Legion” and “Supergirl”.

He also wrote and directed 2005’s “The Boxing Day Classic.”
