Amongst, all the hullaballoo for Avengers: Endgame rocking the markets to its core, in the pipeline MCU has The Eternals. Indeed, the future looks bright.
Next cosmic epic promises advancement of scope in new and surprising directions including a rumored reveal of a major Greek god.
As per reports by That Hashtag Show indicated a Greek God to be one of the major characters in The Eternals and following it up MCU Cosmic has suggested Hercules be one of the main characters in the film.
Also, producer Kevin Feige suggested that he’s going to play with the timelines in the upcoming franchise and they would only grow the legend of MCU, he assured.
Excerpts from his interview:
“Everything after Endgame and Spider-Man: Far From Home will be different and unique from the essence of anything we’ve done before. But seeing returning characters is certainly something we’re gonna do and want to do. But, also introducing that the majority of the world has never heard of, much like Guardians, much like Avengers before we thought of making the same and there are lots of them.”
Adding on he said:
“The Eternals are one group just like Avengers. But, we like the idea of introducing an ensemble doing an ensemble movie right from the start as opposed to building up as we did with first Avengers, more like guardians, not totally but in terms of introducing a new group of superheroes.”
“You were asking about the ’60s and ’70s before. Jack Kirby did an immense amazing epic with Eternals which spans tens and thousands of years which is something we haven’t really done. So we’ll be working on it post Endgame, we find it appealing.”
It remains to be seen what Marvel has in store for us in the future. Who knows? Maybe, we might get a tease when Endgame hits the theatres on 26th April!
Rumor is we’ll be getting The Eternals debuting in 2020.
The future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is finally starting to take shape, as Marvel Studios has dated six new movies for 2021 and 2022. That said, we do know some of what to expect. The Black Widow movie is finally being developed, so we know that will secure one of the new release dates.
We could also see an entirely new property take one of these release dates too. The Eternals will be making their MCU debut soon (rumor has it in an Avengers: Endgame post-credits scene), but 2020 could be when they get a film of their own.
THR is reporting that Chloé Zhao is onboard to direct, along with writers Matthew and Ryan Firpo, and Feige has pretty much confirmed the movie, telling BionicBuzz: “I will say your reaction about not being familiar with The Eternals is perfect because most people weren’t familiar with Guardians and believe it or not there were people who were not familiar with Avengers or with Iron Man.
So for us, it’s finding great stories whether people have heard of them or not and bring them to the big screen in as an amazing way as we can.
