A Recap of Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 165:

The chapter begins by establishing Higuruma as a sorcerer who’s quite powerful despite awakening his cursed energy twelve days ago. Along with that, we also see him fighting against Itadori. The kid is not getting enough room to attack and is only able to either run or deflect the incoming blows. 

Then Higuruma stops and asks Itadori – Can’t you use your cursed energy? Because the penalty of confiscation temporarily makes one impossible to use cursed techniques. So, the reason Itadori’s cursed energy is blocked is due to the shift of penalty as he doesn’t have any cursed technique to begin with. 

Higuruma took a bit of time to understand but that doesn’t change the durability of his opponent. Till now, Itadori has blocked his attacks and not suffered any critical damage. And so, he decides to fight him with his full might; underestimating the kid might cost him later on. 

And the sparring begins yet again. Higurama continuously attacks Itadori but his physical prowess is no joke as he’s able to withstand every blow. In the lawyer’s words, it was like he’s fighting an unbreakable doll. 

However, Itadori was struggling a lot while deflecting all those monumental gavel attacks. In a situation where he doesn’t have any CE, he won’t last long. He has to think up something that’ll grant him some time to breathe and recover. And, it was at this moment when he realised the flaw, the only weaknesses; he demanded a retrial.

Got to say it, Akutami is really subtle with the power designs. As Itadori didn’t admit himself guilty, he was eligible to request a retrial and even the judgeman can’t refuse it. But, the second trial made things worse. 

Itadori was accused of the crime of mass murder in Shibuya. In response to that, Itadori just straight up said yes. With a frightening look, the judgeman announces Itadori as guilty of the death penalty. 

What Can You Expect From Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 166?

After confessing, Itadori is in big trouble, and to make it worse the judgeman awards the convict with the death penalty. Now, things might take a turn for the worst but again the death of Itadori means the death of Sukuna too. 

 

So, there’s a slight chance we might see Sukuna in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 166. Or if things go right, Megumi can also help, given he defeated Reggie and Remi. As usual, the upcoming chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen is going to be exciting.
