Who is Spider-Man’s Greatest Enemy?

Spider-Man enemies

Starting from the Silver Age of comics, this is how we would rank Spider-Man’s enemy:

1. Green Goblin

This for us is the main nemesis of Spider-Man as he turned out to be the father of one of Peter Parkers closest friend, Harry Osborn, and it is not without reason that he was the main villain in the best Spiderman movie ever created, played by the excellent Willem Dafoe. He was so big that not only was he copied, as Hobgoblin, but resurrected as Harry Osborn, and other, and killed Spidey’s girlfriend Gwen Stacy which then later has him inadvertently killed while fighting Spidey.

2. Hobgoblin

This cold-hearted assassin is a criminal who studied and copied Green Goblin but because of his secret identity and how he wrecked chaos in Spidey’s life, we would say this is one of Spidey’s signature enemies as he is arguably even more deadly than the Green Goblin.

3. Doctor Octopus

Doctor Otto Octavius, the mad scientist, is one of our favorite Spiderman foes as he is as smart as he is sinister and has even gone for Aunt May to get to Spidey. He doesn’t have any real superpowers, beside his intellect and mechanical arms but is still a very deadly foe. Another member of the Sinister Six.

4. Electro

Max Dillon, aka Electro, is one of Spiderman’s most prominent adversaries. An accident at an electric company turned him into a living electric capacitor and one of Spiderman’s most dangerous foes as he is not afraid to kill people. Also, a member of the Sinister Six.

5. Sandman

Spider-Man enemy

William Baker started out as a petty criminal but, after a nuclear accident, he became the infamous Sandman and both a regular adversary of Spiderman and a member of the Sinister Six. He later turned into an anti-hero but it is hard to deny that he was one of Spiderman’s greatest enemies.
