God, it’s like aeons ago we saw such a big star-studded cast. No wait, we saw them in Ocean’s Eleven in 2011.

But this is a massive cast of ‘A-listers’, and the movie is being made for the streaming giant, Netflix. Jennifer Lawrence was on board, and these new stars are joining her just now.

Adam McKay will write, co-produce and direct the film. Jennifer Lawrence was the first one on board since this year start, and the movie was supposed to start filming in April which was obviously cancelled because of the pandemic. But the silver lining is now we get a fantastic cast to star along JLaw.

Massive Cast of A-Listers

Leonardo DiCaprio, Meryl Streep, Jonah Hill, Timothée Chalamet, Ariana Grande, Himesh Patel, Mathew Perry and Rob Morgan are set to star in the movie. The movie is about two low-level astronomers who go on a press tour to warn the mankind of impending doom because of an asteroid which is approaching towards the earth.

According to sources the astronomers are being played by Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio. Netflix hasn’t confirmed it yet.

Getting Schedules In Order

DiCaprio is still trying to figure out a way to make this movie happen as he is busy with Apple’s Martin Scorsese film, Killers of Flower Moon. The movie is set for a theatrical release and with the ongoing pandemic, no idea if it will release anytime soon.

Ariana Grande who made her acting debut in Victorious, a Nickelodeon Teen show, will also join this heavily star-studded cast. Her new album is about to release this month. And her role in the movie is still unknown.

Supporting Cast

FRIENDS alum, Mathew Perry, will join the cast on his first-ever Netflix film. Chalamet, who finished his movie Dune which is set for 2021 release and has another two movies on deck, will also join the cast and his role is still unknown. Streep has her commitments in line for another Netflix film and an HBO Max film other than this one. Patel was last seen in Christopher Nolan’s Tenet.

The movie is scheduled to start shooting by this year-end. With the new world order this pandemic has brought, we are pretty sure it will be long before we go to the theatre and have the theatre experience without any fear of death. So, Netflix and other streaming services will thrive and flourish until then. And we are definitely not complaining, particularly after seeing this tremendous cast and all of them for a comedy film.
