A Brief Recap of Fire Force Chapter 299:

After Shinrabanshomon brought life and its miracles to his battle against Haumea, she is completely in awe. Now, she’s in awe because he who has the power of God is still using it to circulate hope. Furthermore, she goes on to say that because he has created life, he causes a new hell too. 

But, Shinrabanshomon gets angry by her bleakness and says that hope isn’t as shallow as she thinks it to be. And, the Despair Saint attacks once again to stop Shinrabanshomon from plummeting humanity into a new hell. However, he catches her light of despair and brings forth a civilization from it.

Once again, Haumea is in shock as she sees the power of her opponent. Although she won’t back down as she has heard the cries of innumerable souls who seek salvation. But before that happens, Shinrabanshomon turns her tears into souls and returns them to their respective bodies.

Cut to the next panel and we see a humongous spread of everyone waking up. The Earth is once again brimming with life and so are the subordinates of Captain Obi. On the other hand, Haumea is now in utter despair as she knows that the cycle will just repeat itself. And like that, the final panel ends with a smile on Shinrabanshomon’s face.

What Can Happen In The Next Chapter?

Shinrabanshomon was quite rigid in showing what the future holds for humanity to Haumea who sought despair. But for that to see, we have to keep the hope for a better tomorrow alive. And that’s where Haumea’s tears blinded her.

Although he did the right thing, one can’t completely discard Haumea’s ideology too. So, it’ll be interesting to see what does Shinrabanshomon has to justify his actions in Fire Force Chapter 300.
